Veeramani Daasan is an Indian singer of devotional songs A devotional song is a hymn that accompanies religious observances and rituals. Traditionally devotional music has been a part of Hindu music, Jewish music, Buddhist music, Islamic music and Christian music. Each major religion has its own trad ... and cinema songs. Earlier Veeramani Daasan had a light music troupe, Sruti Laya. But now it is devotional singing most of the way. He has sung for a couple of films too. Beginning with Ramanuja Suprabhatham, Veeramani Daasan has come out with many albums including the recent "Amman Kovil". Having sung more than 3,500 songs this singer who travels extensively for concerts is at home in Kannada and Telugu devotionals too. ''Gurusamy'' is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language Hindu mythological film directed by K. R. Vishnaanth and starring Manikandan, Udhayathara and Delhi Ganesh in the titular role. The movie is based on the devotees of Ayyappan. Plot Gurusamy narrates several small stories to his followers. He tells them of Subramani, a religious follower of Ayyappan, and his father, a loan shark. In an attempt to change his father's greed, Subramani climbs a mountain and puts a garland of flowers on it. Ayyappan protects people who were tricked by loan sharks and unable to pay the loan. He also tells them how Ayyappan reunited Poongodi and her abusive husband, Vembu. Vembu becomes a Ayyappan devotee and reforms, solving the couple's problems. Udukai
The udukkai, udukai or udukku (Tamil: உடுக்கை) is a member of the family of membranophone percussion instruments of India and Nepal used in folk music and prayers in Tamil Nadu. The drums are an ancient design of hourglass drums similar to the northern damaru and southern idakka. Its shape is similar to other Indian hourglass drums, having a small snare stretched over one side.
