Vasyl Malyuk
Vasyl Vasylyovych Malyuk (Ukrainian: Василь Васильович Малюк; born 28 February 1983), is a Ukrainian political military officer and brigadier general, who has been the acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) since 18 July 2022. He has been a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine since 4 August 2022. He is a candidate of legal sciences. Biography Vasyl Malyuk was born in Korostyshiv on 28 February 1983. Since 2001, Malyuk has been in military service in state security agencies. During his service in the regional offices of the SBU, he held positions ranging from operations officer to deputy head of the department (head of the department for combating corruption and organized crime). The Security Service of Ukraine ( uk, Служба безпеки України, translit=Sluzhba bezpeky Ukrainy}) or SBU ( uk, СБУ, link=no) is the law enforcement authority and main intelligence and security agency of the Ukrainian government, in the areas of counter-intelligence activity and combating terrorism. The Constitution of Ukraine defines the SBU as a military formation, and its staff are considered military personnel with ranks.
