Vasilisa Kozhina
Vasilisa Kozhina (russian: Василиса Кожина, —) was a Russian guerrilla in the Patriotic War of 1812 who fought against the invading French '' Grande Armée''. Biography Vasilisa came from Russian peasants. She was a wife of Gorshkov, a starosta (an elder) of a village of Sychyovsky Uyezd of Smolensk Governorate. During the French invasion of Russia from Vasilisa Kozhina organized in Sychyovsky Uyezd a partisan detachment of teenagers and women. All of them were armed with scythes, pitchforks, axes, bear spears and so on. During the retreat of Napoleon's troops from Moscow her guerrillas attacked French troops, captured prisoners and handed them to Russian units. For this feat Vasilisa Kozhina was awarded a medal and given a monetary reward. In 1813, the artist Alexander Smirnov painted her sole portrait. Sychyovsky Uyezd (''Сычёвский уезд'') was one of the subdivisions of the Smolensk Governorate of the Russian Empire. It was situated in the northeastern part of the governorate. ''Vasilisa'' (russian: Василиса) is a 2014 Russian film and TV mini-series for Russian World Studios (RWS) based on the life of Napoleonic War partisan Vasilisa Kozhina directed by Anton Sivers. Bagrationovskaya (russian: Багратионовская) is a Moscow Metro station, located on the surface portion of the Filyovskaya Line. Designed by Rimidalv Pogrebnoy and Cheremin and opened in 1961 as part of the western extension of the Filyovsky radius, the station unlike the other three coming from the centre, features a more functional design innovation. Name It is named after Prince and General Pyotr Bagration. Building The station is located at the Metro line's intersection with Barklaya Street, which crosses the platform on an overpass. Entrance vestibules are located on the upper level, above the platform.
