Vasilis Konstantinou
Vasilis Konstantinou ( el, Βασίλης Κωνσταντίνου; born 19 November 1947) is a former Greek football goalkeeper whose career spanned three decades: the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Club career Born in Marousi, Konstantinou played football for Panathinaikos' youth team before becoming the back-up goalkeeper and under study of Takis Ikonomopoulos. He filled in successfully for his "mentor" when the situation called for it as was the case in the European Cup semi-finals against Red Star Belgrade (3-0) which sent PAO to the final. Eventually, Konstantinou became the first-team's keeper, a position he held until the 1983 season. He ended his career in 1984, playing for OFI. In the summer of 1973 he played abroad in the National Soccer League with Toronto Homer. International career Konstantinou was capped 28 times with Greece. 1964–65 Alpha Ethniki
The 1964–65 Alpha Ethniki was the 29th season of the highest football league of Greece. The season began on 17 September 1964 and ended on 7 November 1965 after the playing of the last relegation play-off match (last round of regular season were played on 27 June, replay of the Niki Volos-Panathinaikos match was played on 19 September and the relegation play-off was played in October-November). Balkans Cup
The Balkans Cup was an international football competition for clubs from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey, and Yugoslavia. It was introduced in 1961 and was very popular in the 1960s (the 1967 final attracted 42,000 spectators), being the second most important international club competition for clubs from the region (after the European Champions' Cup in which the champions could play; the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup originally attracted few teams from the region as many did not organise domestic cups regularly and only Yugoslavia had significant representation in the Fairs Cup). The competition has been dominated by Bulgaria-based teams. The Bulgarian teams have won together a total number of 9 titles. The Greek Football Cup ( el, Κύπελλο Ελλάδος Ποδοσφαίρου), commonly known as the Greek Cup or Kypello Elladas is a Greek football competition, run by the Hellenic Football Federation. The Greek Cup is the second most important domestic men's football event, after the championship of Super League.
