Vasileostrovsky District
Vasileostrovsky District (russian: Василеостро́вский райо́н) is a district of the federal city of St. Petersburg, Russia. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 214,625; down from 236,856 recorded in the 2002 Census. Geography The district occupies the territories of Vasilyevsky and Dekabristov Islands and includes a smaller Serny Island. History The district was one of the first established in Petrograd in 1917. Sportivnaya (Saint Petersburg Metro)
Sportivnaya (russian: Спорти́вная) (literally - Sportage) is a station on the Frunzensko-Primorskaya Line of the Saint Petersburg Metro. The station was designed by Alexander Konstantinov, Alexander Bystrov and Andrey Larionov. It opened on 15 September 1997 as part of the Pravoberezhnaya Line. Sportivnaya is the only two-level single-vault transfer metro station outside Washington D.C. The floors are connected by two groups of escalators, one of which is closed . The lower floor serves the southbound trains while the upper floor serves the northbound ones. The upper floor is linked to the station's exit to south-eastern side of Petrogradsky island. Since 27 May 2015 the lower floor house an entrance to a transfer corridor equipped with moving walkway which link the station to the exit on the north-eastern side of Vasilyevsky island. Primorskaya (Saint Petersburg Metro)
Primorskaya (russian: Примо́рская) is the station of the Nevsko–Vasileostrovskaya Line (Line 3) of the Saint Petersburg Metro. It was designed by V.N. Sokolov, M.I. Starodubov and V.A. Penno and opened on 28 September 1979. The opening of the station, situated in the western part of Vasilievsky Island, was designed to coincide with the expansion of the local neighborhoods. Like many stations built during the Cold War era, it was designed to double as a fallout shelter. Thus, the underground portion of the station features a set of blast doors a few meters before the escalator. The station's exit vestibule was eventually expanded to house one of the system's communication centers. The building also hosts a metro museum and Metropoliten cafe. Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya Line
Line 3 of the Saint Petersburg Metro, also known as ''Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya Line'' (russian: Не́вско-Василеостро́вская ли́ния) or ''Green Line'', is a rapid transit line in Saint Petersburg, Russia, which connects city centre with the western and southeastern districts. It was opened in 1967. Since 1994, it has been officially designated as Line 3. It stands out among Saint Petersburg metro lines for two reasons — its stations are almost exclusively of "Horizontal Lift" type and it has the longest inter-station tunnels in the entire system. Western Rapid Diameter
The Western High-Speed Diameter (ЗСД, ZSD, russian: Западный скоростной диаметр) is a toll motorway in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The first section of the road open to traffic was an eight-lane motorway connecting the southern section of the A118 beltway with two junctions at the Kirovsky and Moskovsky Districts, respectively. Other sections of the highway were under construction and eventually formed a corridor through the western districts of St. Petersburg to cross the northern portion of the A118 beltway in Yuntolovo and to meet the E-18/M-10 route at the Beloostrov junction. A new 4-km-long section of the highway was slated to open in late 2011.
