Vasatorp Golf Club
Vasatorp Golf Club (Vasatorps Golfklubb; Vasatorps GK) is a 54-hole golfing complex located 9 km east of Helsingborg in Skåne County, southern Sweden. Its two championship courses have hosted tournaments both on the European Tour and Ladies European Tour, where former world number one players Annika Sörenstam, Seve Ballesteros, and Greg Norman all have recorded victories. History The club has two 18-hole courses, the 72-par ''Tournament Course'' finished in 2008 and designed by Arthur Hills, and the 72-par ''Classic Course'' finished in 1974 and redesigned in 2013, as well as two 9-hole courses. With almost 3,500 members it is one of the largest in Sweden. ''Svensk Golf'', official publication of the Swedish Golf Federation, in 2020 ranked the Tournament Course #11 and the Classic Course #25 in Sweden using the ''Golf Digest'' methodology. Helsingborg Municipality
Helsingborg Municipality (''Helsingborgs kommun'') is a municipality in Scania County in Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Helsingborg, which is Sweden's eighth largest city. The municipality had a population of 147,734 on January 1, 2019, and the metro has about 320,000 inhabitants. Between 1912 and 1971 the name of the town was officially spelled Hälsingborg (rather like the region of Hälsingland but unlike neighbouring Danish Helsingør and the Finnish capital Helsingfors (Helsinki)). The spelling was changed back to the older version when the present municipality was created in 1971 through the amalgamation of the ''Town of Hälsingborg'' with four surrounding rural municipalities. Steven Jeppesen
Steven Svejstrup Jeppesen (born 22 April 1984) is a Swedish professional golfer. Career Jeppesen played for the Swedish National team as an amateur and won on his first outing for the team, the Junior Open Championship at Crail, Scotland, in 2000. He also won the 2001 European Boys' Team Championship, with a team that included Gustav Adell, Robert Svensson, Johannes Andersson, Jonas Blixt and Niklas Lemke. Jeppesen finished 10th and best Swedish player at the 2003 individual European Amateur Championship at Nairn Golf Club, Scotland. Jeppesen turned professional in 2003 at the age of nineteen, and immediately qualified for the European Tour for the 2004 season via qualifying school. The 1980 European Tour was the ninth official season of golf tournaments known as the PGA European Tour and organised by the Professional Golfers' Association. The season was made up of 23 tournaments counting for the Official Money List, and some non-counting tournaments later known as "Approved Special Events". The 1979 European Tour was a series of golf tournaments that comprised the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) European Tournament Players' Division (ETPD) run ''PGA European Golf Tour''. Challenge Tour
The Challenge Tour is the second-tier men's professional golf tour in Europe. It is operated by the PGA European Tour and, as with on the main European Tour and the European Senior Tour, some of the events are played outside Europe. History The tour was introduced in 1986 and was initially called the ''Satellite Tour''. The Order of Merit was introduced in 1989, with the top five players on it winning membership of the European Tour for the following season. The following year the tour was renamed the Challenge Tour. Up to 1993 the Challenge Tour rankings were based on each player's best several results, but since 1994 it has been a straightforward money list, with all results counting. The European Amateur Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for men organised by the European Golf Association which was introduced in 1959. The championship was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Sandy Lyle
Alexander Walter Barr Lyle (born 9 February 1958) is a Scottish professional golfer. Lyle has won two major championships during his career. Along with Nick Faldo and Ian Woosnam, he became one of Britain's top golfers during the 1980s. He spent 167 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking from its introduction, in 1986, until 1989. Lyle was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in May 2012. Early life Lyle was born in Shrewsbury, England and now lives in Scotland with his wife Jolande and children Lonneke and Quintin. He represented Scotland during his professional career. Gabriel Hjertstedt
Gabriel Hjertstedt (born 5 December 1971) is a Swedish professional golfer. Hjertstedt was born in Umeå, Sweden. His family relocated to Australia when he was eleven and he learned to play golf there. He turned professional in 1990 and spent time on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the Japan Golf Tour. He played on the European Tour from 1993 to 1996, where his best results were a pair of second places in 1994. In his 1997 rookie year on the U.S.-based PGA Tour he won the B.C.
