Varese Railway Station
Varese railway station ( it, Stazione di Varese) serves the town and ''comune'' of Varese, in the region of Lombardy, northern Italy. Opened in 1865, it is located on the Porto Ceresio–Milan railway. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. Train services are operated by the lombard railway company Trenord. Location Varese railway station is situated at Piazzale Trieste, on the eastern edge of the city centre. Malpensa Aeroporto Terminal 2 is a railway station serving Terminal 2 of Milan-Malpensa Airport. It opened in 2016 with the 3.4 kilometer railway extension from the Terminal 1 railway station, thus becoming the western terminus of the Busto Arsizio–Malpensa Airport railway, managed by Ferrovienord. Mendrisio (; lmo, label= Ticinese, Mendris ) is a municipality in the district of Mendrisio in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Mendrisio is the seat of the Accademia di Architettura of the university of Italian-speaking Switzerland (USI). The municipality was boosted in size on 4 April 2004 when it incorporated the former municipality of Salorino. Stabio is a municipality in the district of Mendrisio in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. History Stabio is first mentioned in 1067 as ''Stabio''. Excavations in the area around S. Pietro have found evidence of continuous settlements from about 400 BC to the 7th century AD. There are burial grounds from the Iron Age followed by a burial ground and patrician residential structures from the Roman era, traces of the cult of Mercury and numerous Lombards graves.
