Vartan Minasi Oskanian ( hy, Վարդան Մինասի Օսկանյան; born February 7, 1954) is the former Foreign Minister of Armenia (1998–2008) and founder of the Civilitas Foundation. Early life and career Born into a wealthy Armenian jewelers' family in Syria, Oskanian was educated in the Armenian schools of Aleppo. After graduating from The AGBU Armenian Central High School in 1973 he left Aleppo for Yerevan, where he attended the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute and received a BSc degree in Structural Engineering. He continued his education with a graduate degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in the United States; his fields of concentration were International Monetary Theory and Policy, and Diplomatic History and Foreign Policies. Vardan Minasyan
Vardan Minasyan ( hy, Վարդան Մինասյան; born 5 January 1974) is a former Armenian footballer who played as a midfielder, and is the former football manager of FC Taraz in the Kazakhstan Premier League. Minasyan has been largely credited for advancing Armenia international and domestic football. He led Armenia to a record 3rd-place finish in Euro 2012 qualifications, where Armenia scored 22 goals, in his first qualification cycle. Minasyan was also the longest serving manager of the Armenian national squad to date and has the best match record of all the former managers of the national team. Vardan Militosyan ( hy, Վարդան Միլիտոսյան, 8 June 1950 – 29 April 2015) was a Soviet Armenian former weightlifter. He was awarded the Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR title in 1976. Early life Born in Leninakan, Armenian SSR (now Gyumri, Armenia), a city famous for its world class weightlifters, Militosyan took up weightlifting in 1964 under the guidance of Hakob Faradzhyana and joined the Soviet national team in 1975. Career A year after joining the Soviet weightlifting team, Militosyan won a gold medal at the 1976 European Weightlifting Championships and a silver medal at the 1976 World Weightlifting Championships. Vardan Mamikonian (musician)
Vardan Mamikonian is an Armenian pianist, and also a naturalised French citizen. Mamikonian was born into a musical family. He began his piano studies at the Yerevan School of Music at the age of 6. He continued his studies at the Moscow Conservatory and at the prestigious Tchaikovsky Conservatory where he became a student of Valery Kastelsky, the last pupil of legendary teacher Heinrich Neuhaus. Further studies followed with Russian virtuoso Lazar Berman, and in 1981 he was awarded First Prize at the Balis Dvarionas Piano Competition in Vilnius. More first prizes followed - in 1990 at the Lefébure Competition in Saint-Germain-en-Laye and in 1992 at the World Music Masters Competition in Monte Carlo, reserved exclusively for winners of international competitions. Vardan Vardanovich Kushnir (22 November 1969 – 24 July 2005) was a notorious spammer of Armenian-Jewish descent who ran the American Language Center (ALC) and who is believed to have spammed the entire population of Russian-language Internet users with ads for his language courses. Vardan Martun Ghazaryan (; ; born 1 December 1969) is a football coach and former player. Born in Armenia, Ghazaryan moved to Lebanon and obtained citizenship through naturalisation in 1994. He played for Homenetmen and Sagesse as a striker, and represented Lebanon internationally from 1995 until 2001. Ghazaryan is the second-highest all-time scorer in the Lebanese Premier League, scoring 117 official league goals.
