Varathan
''Varathan'' () is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film directed by Amal Neerad. It is an adaptation of '' Straw Dogs''. It was jointly produced by Nazriya Nazim and Amal Neerad under the banners of Fahadh Faasil and Friends and Amal Neerad Productions. It is written by Suhas-Sharfu and stars Fahadh Faasil and Aishwarya Lekshmi. The film was released on 20 September 2018. Plot Varathan is a story about a husband and wife, Abin and Priya who return to Kerala from Dubai for a break in their job. They then decide to live at Priya's childhood-home in the hills. Since their first day there, Priya is suspicious of the intentions of the contractors who work on her family's land. The villagers and neighbours are often shown ogling at her. After their wedding anniversary, when the couple go to bed, Priya spots someone staring at them from the window. But when she wakes her husband, the shadow disappears. Sushin Shyam
Sushin Shyam is an Indian music composer who works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. He is also the keyboardist of the Indian folk metal band The Down Troddence. He started gaining popularity in 2018 with the films ''Varathan'' and ''Kumbalangi Nights'' in 2019. Thereafter, he worked continually in many Malayalam films. Suhas-Sharfu
Suhas and Sharfu are an Indian screenwriter duo working in Malayalam cinema. They wrote a total of five films, beginning with ''Varathan'' in 2018. Career They were both engineers before their film careers and met through the short film network and social media. Suhas is from Thripunithura and Sharfu from Kozhikode. Suhas and Sharfu were assistant director and associate director respectively for the 2018 film '' Sudani From Nigeria''. Amal Neerad (born on 7 October 1976) is an Indian film director, cinematographer and Film producer, producer who mainly works in Malayalam Cinema. He attended the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata (first batch).
