Vania King
Vania King (born February 3, 1989) is an American former tennis player. A former top-ten doubles player, King won both the Wimbledon and US Open women's doubles titles in 2010 with partner Yaroslava Shvedova, with whom she also reached the final of the 2011 US Open. She won a total of 15 WTA doubles titles and reached a career-high ranking of No. 3 in the world. She also ended runner-up in the mixed-doubles final at the French Open in 2009, with Marcelo Melo. In singles, King has been ranked as high as No. 50 in the world. Her biggest accomplishments included a WTA Tour title at the 2006 Bangkok Open and two runner-up finishes at the 2013 Guangzhou International and 2016 Jianxi International. She also progressed as far as the third round in Grand Slam tournaments, doing so on four occasions (the 2009 US Open, the 2011 French Open, the 2011 US Open, and the 2012 Australian Open). The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed upon an amateur sports person from the United States who is considered to be one of the best amateurs in their sport. Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport. Some sports will have multiple All-America teams and will list the honorees as members of a first team, second team, or third team. As such, All-America teams are composed of outstanding US amateur players. Individuals falling short of qualifying for the honor may receive All-America honorable mention. Phillip King (tennis)
Phillip King (, born December 19, 1981 in Taipei, Taiwan) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. In later years he also played tennis in Hong Kong. Personal life King's parents David and Karen King emigrated to the U.S. from Taiwan in 1982. King is the oldest of four children. Two of his younger sisters are tennis players; the youngest one Vania King was the 2010 Wimbledon ladies doubles champion and 2010 US Open tennis doubles champion. Tennis career King started playing tennis when he was a boy. He was coached by his father David King who was a professional tennis player in Taiwan with several national championships, being known for his powerful forehand compared to his Taiwanese peers. Yaroslava Vyacheslavovna Shvedova (; born 12 September 1987) is a Kazakhstani former professional tennis player. Before 2008, she represented her country of birth, Russia. She won one singles title and 13 doubles titles on the WTA Tour, plus one singles and one doubles title on WTA 125 tournaments, as well as four singles and three doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
