Vance Astro
Vance Astro, born Vance Astrovik and going by the code name Major Victory, is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character is usually depicted as being from the Earth-691 timeline of the Marvel Universe. Astro first appeared in January 1969 as a founding member of the Guardians of the Galaxy in the partial reprint title '' Marvel Super-Heroes'' with issue #18. Alternate history (also alternative history, althist, AH) is a genre of speculative fiction of stories in which one or more historical events occur and are resolved differently than in real life. Stan Lee
Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber ; December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018) was an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, and producer. He rose through the ranks of a family-run business called Timely Publications which would later become Marvel Comics. He was the primary creative leader for two decades, leading its expansion from a small division of a publishing house to a multimedia corporation that dominated the comics and film industries. Roger Stern (born September 17, 1950) is an American comic book author and novelist. Biography Early career In the early 1970s, Stern and Bob Layton published the fanzine ''CPL'' (''Contemporary Pictorial Literature''), one of the first platforms for the work of John Byrne (comics), John Byrne. ''CPL'' rapidly became a popular fan publication, and led to the two forming an alliance with Charlton Comics to produce and publish "the now-famous ''Charlton Bullseye (fanzine), Charlton Bullseye'' magazine". Publication history Bloodstone ''Marvel Presents'' began publication with an October 1975 cover date. Stephen Ross Gerber (; September 20, 1947 – February 10, 2008) was an American comic book writer and creator of the satiric Marvel Comics character Howard the Duck. Defenders (comics)
The Defenders are a set of superhero groups with rotating membership appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They are usually presented as a "non-team" of individualistic "outsiders" who, in their prior adventures, are known for following their own agendas. The team often battle mysticism, mystic and supernatural threats. Its original incarnation was led by Doctor Strange and included Hulk, Namor, and—eventually—Silver Surfer.
