Henry Clemens van de Velde (; 3 April 1863 – 15 October 1957) was a Belgian painter, architect, interior designer, and art theorist. Together with Victor Horta and Paul Hankar, he is considered one of the founders of Art Nouveau in Belgium.'''' Abraham Momber, also known as Abraham Momber van de Velde, was the last commander (''opperhoofd'') of the Dutch East India Company ( nl, Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie, commonly abbreviated to VOC) settlement on Mauritius. He followed Roelof Deodati as the de facto Dutch governor on November 25, 1703. On November 15, 1707, the VOC's premises, goods, and administration were almost entirely destroyed by a fire. Roger van de Velde (13 February 1925 - 30 May 1970) was a Belgian author and journalist, known for his collections of short stories written while he was interred in psychiatric institutions. Early and professional life Roger van de Velde was born in Boom, near Antwerp, the son of wine merchant Jan Frans van de Velde and Maria Callaer. When his father died in 1932, his mother remarried Louis Eykmans, a clerk at Willem Elsschot's advertising agency. John Vande Velde (born December 27, 1948) is an American track cyclist who competed on velodromes around the world, winning three national championships (4,000 meter Individual Pursuit, 1968-1972), and he competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics and the 1972 Summer Olympics. James Oliver Van de Velde (April 3, 1795 – November 13, 1855) was a U.S. Catholic bishop born in Belgium. He served as the second Roman Catholic Bishop of Chicago between 1849 and 1853. Darryl van de Velde (born 3 October 1951) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer, coach and administrator. He played club football in Queensland for Souths and represented his state on one occasion in 1977.
