Valkyrien (TV Series)
''Valkyrien'' (English: ''Valkyrie'') is a 2017 Norwegian TV series first broadcast by NRK1. The series combines elements of the " Scandi noir" school of television with medical drama, crime drama and "a palpable sense of the paranoia induced by operating on the edges of society", drawing favorable comparisons with AMC's ''Breaking Bad''. It was named after the closed metro station Valkyrien in Oslo. Premise Surgeon Ravn Eikanger becomes furious when his supervisors do not allow him to test experimental medical procedures on his dying wife. In desperation, Eikander fakes her death as an apparent suicide and brings her to a makeshift clinic in the abandoned subway station Valkyrie. He is aided by Leif Lien, a paranoid prepper, who allows Ravn stay hidden if he operates an underground hospital where those who do not trust the Norwegian health care services can seek help. Norwegian Civil Defence ( no, Sivilforsvaret) is the civil defence organization of Norway. The Norwegian Civil Defence sorts under the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning which again reports to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. The organization is based on conscription where both men and women between the age of 18 and 55 can be called to serve. The Civil Defence are to support the police, fire departments, health care or other public agencies in case of larger incidents which those departments don't have the manpower to handle. In Norway, municipalities are in charge of providing basic healthcare. Survivalism is a social movement of individuals or groups (called survivalists or preppers) who proactively prepare for emergencies, such as natural disasters, as well as other disasters causing disruption to social order (that is, civil disorder) caused by political or economic crises. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Valkyrie Plass (station)
Valkyrie plass was a metro station and a tram station on the Oslo Metro and the Oslo Tramway. The station was opened when the Holmenkollen Line was extended from Majorstuen to Nationaltheatret on 28 June 1928. The station was built in neoclassical style, and the architect was Kristofer Andreas Lange. Though not originally planned, when 800 m² of the street collapsed during the construction of the first parts of Fellestunnelen, a station was built anyway. It was closed in 1985 due its proximity to Majorstuen, and it was both difficult and dangerous to expand the station to accommodate trains with more than two cars (which was needed for the conversion of the western lines to metro).
