Lette Valeska
Lette Valeska (August 20, 1885 – January 8, 1985) was a photographer, painter and sculptor in the Hollywood community. When her husband's chemical plant was confiscated by the Nazi regime, she left her homeland of Germany and traveled with her husband and daughter before moving to New York City in 1937. In 1938 she left her husband and moved to Los Angeles, where she spent the rest of her life. She began a photographic career of children's portraits and quickly gained notoriety among Hollywood stars. She worked as an archivist for the Pasadena Art Museum's Blue Four Collection. At the end of World War II, she organized a friendship correspondence between children in California and Ryswyck, Holland out of gratitude for Ryswyck citizens' assistance to holocaust refugees. At age 50, Valeska began painting and at age 70 began sculpting. She was featured in the Emmy award winning NBC documentary "The Heart Is Not Wrinkled" in 1969. Valeska Suratt (June 28, 1882 – July 2, 1962) was an American stage and silent film actress. Over the course of her career, Suratt appeared in 11 silent films, all of which are now lost, mainly due to the 1937 Fox vault fire. Early life and career Suratt was born in Owensville, Indiana to Ralph and Anna (Matthews) Suratt. Her paternal grandparents were French immigrants and her maternal grandparents immigrated to the United States from England. She had one stepsister, one older brother and a younger sister. When she was six, her family moved to Terre Haute, Indiana. She dropped out of school in 1899 and worked at a photographer's studio. Suratt later moved to Indianapolis where she worked as an assistant in a millinery at a department store. Career Suratt began her career as an actress on the Chicago stage. Jerome And Jeremiah Valeska
Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska are characters and antagonists on the FOX television series '' Gotham''. They are identical twin brothers portrayed by Cameron Monaghan. The series is a crime drama developed by Bruno Heller based on the Batman mythos in comic books published by DC Comics. Each twin adapts different characteristics of the DC Comics supervillain the Joker. Boy (stylized BOY) is a Swiss–German pop duo founded in 2007 by Swiss singer Valeska Steiner and German bassist Sonja Glass. The two met while at a pop-music course at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg in 2005. The band initially played concerts exclusively, before being discovered by and signed to Herbert Grönemeyer's label, Grönland Records, in 2011. Their debut album, ''Mutual Friends'' ( Gold-certified in Germany), was produced by Philipp Steinke and released in the autumn of 2011. The band sings entirely in English in a style reminiscent of that of Leslie Feist. In the UK, ''Mutual Friends'' was released by Decca in June 2012. She was active in 2018 Nicaraguan protests who has been repeatedly captured by pro-government forces including once in an assault captured live on Facebook. Adolfas Valeška (15 March 1905, in Kybartai – 11 May 1994, in Kaunas, Lithuania) was a Lithuanian stained glass artist, painter, stage designer, and museum director who worked in Lithuania and in Chicago, Illinois. Valeška graduated from the Kaunas Art School in 1928. He then began work as a church decorator, moving on to co-found a museum of religious art in Kaunas. From 1939 to 1944 he served as director of the Vilnius Art Museum. Valeska Röver (6 February 1849 – 31 March 1931) was a German painter. Röver started an art school for women in her home town of Hamburg. Life Röver was born in Hamburg in 1849. She was a student of the impressionist Franz Skarbina and she took lessons in Paris at the Académie Julian. She is known for starting an art school for women in Hamburg. At the time women were banned from existing art schools. Her students included Gerda Koppel and Alma del Banco and the teachers at her school included Alfred Lichtwark, Ernst Eitner and Arthur Illies. She painted still lifes of flowers and fruits.
