Valence Sportif
Valence Sportif was a French rugby union club based in Valence, Drôme. The team last competed in Fédérale 2, the fourth division of French rugby. Valence were established in 1905, and played in white and red. In 2010, the club merged with nearby La Voulte Sportif to form the current club ROC La Voulte-Valence (French: ''Rhône ovalie club La Voulte-Valence''). Valence, Drôme
Valence (, ; oc, Valença ) is a commune in southeastern France, the prefecture of the Drôme department and within the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It is situated on the left bank of the Rhône, about south of Lyon, along the railway line that runs from Paris to Marseille. It is the eighth-largest city in the region by its population and has 64,726 registered inhabitants in 2018 (132,556 inhabitants in the urban area (''unité urbaine''). ROC La Voulte-Valence ( French: ''Rhône ovalie club La Voulte-Valence'') is a French rugby union club based in Valence, Drôme and playing home matches in Valence and La Voulte-sur-Rhône in the adjacent department of Ardèche. The team currently competes in Fédérale 1, the third division of French rugby. The club was established in 2010 by a merger of Valence Sportif, founded in 1905, and La Voulte Sportif, founded in 1907. Élie Cester
Élie Cester (27 July 1942 - 3 January 2017) was a French rugby union player who played at lock for the France national rugby union team. Early life and career Élie Cester was born on July 27, 1942, in L'Isle-Jourdain, France. Cester earned his first cap for the France national rugby union team on January 15, 1966. He made a total of 35 official appearances for the French national team between 1966 and 1974. He captained the team on three occasions. Roques was part of the French national team that won the Five Nations Championship in 1967, 1968, 1970 (tied with Wales) and 1973. Death Cester died at the age of 74 in Bourg-les-Valence, France, on January 3, 2017. Sébastien Chabal (born 8 December 1977) is a French former rugby union player. He played number eight and lock for Bourgoin (1998–2004), Sale Sharks (2004–2009), Racing Métro 92 Paris (2009 – February 2012), and for the French national team. Chabal played professionally for 16 years and won the English Premiership with Sale, and the 2007 Six Nations Championship with France. He also finished in fourth place at the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
