Vaige
The Vaige () is a long river in the Mayenne and Sarthe departments in western France. La Bazouge-de-Chemeré
La Bazouge-de-Chemeré () is a Communes of France, commune in the Mayenne Departments of France, department in northwestern France. Geography The village stands on a promontory above the Vaige river. On the opposite side there are limestone quarries and old lime kilns. The village stands at the far east of the Armorican Massif so the geology presents various facies : limestone, coal, rhyolite, slate, slate shale. Luckily there were anthracite mines dedicated to the lime kiln. The lime was used for liming (soil) until 1896 when chemical fertilizers have been available, so the lime kilns has stopped and also the mining because coal layers are not regular but spraid in distant columns. History In 1926 the lightning torched the bell tower then the church. The steeple cover has been built again shorter and the bells were cast again then baptized in 1930. The Sarthe () is a river in western France. Together with the river Mayenne it forms the river Maine, which is a tributary to the river Loire. Its source is in the Orne department, near Moulins-la-Marche. Sablé-sur-Sarthe
Sablé-sur-Sarthe (, literally ''Sablé on Sarthe''), commonly referred to as Sablé, is a commune in the Sarthe department, in the Pays de la Loire region, western France. It is about 50 km northeast of Angers. Population Geography The Vaige forms part of the commune's north-western border, flows southwards through the middle of the commune, then flows into the Sarthe River in the town of Sablé-sur-Sarthe. History French prime minister François Fillon was mayor of Sablé from 1983 to 2001, which therefore has a TGV station on the line from Paris-Nantes despite a relatively small population. Tourism The town is a hub for river cruising along the Sarthe. There is a festival of baroque music every August.
