Vagina Witchcraft
Vagina Witchcraft was a Canadian heavy metal band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. They are most noted for their self-titled debut album, which was released in 2020 and longlisted for the 2021 Polaris Music Prize. The band consists of vocalist Kayla Fernandes, guitarist Dylan Sellar, bassist Seppel Saünlust and drummer Julien Riel. They were formed in 2018 after Fernandes was brought on stage to perform a song with Cancer Bats at the Manitoba Metalfest, leading to an invitation from Cancer Bats drummer Mike Peters to perform at another show with his side project AGAPITO. The 2021 edition of the Canadian Polaris Music Prize was presented on September 27, 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, the award was presented in a livestreamed virtual event hosted by Angeline Tetteh-Wayoe of CBC Music. The longlist was announced on June 16, 2021, with the shortlist following on July 15, 2021. ''The Manitoban'' is the official student newspaper at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Published for the first time on November 5, 1914, the ''Toban'', as it is called for short, is one of the oldest and largest (by circulation and budget) student newspapers in Canada. Cancer Bats
Cancer Bats is a Canadian hardcore punk band from Toronto, Ontario. To date, they have released seven studio albums and six extended plays; with their most recent LP, ''Psychic Jailbreak'', having been released on 15 April 2022. The band is currently composed of lead vocalist Liam Cormier, drummer Mike Peters and bassist/guitarist Jaye R. Schwarzer. The band are also currently joined by touring guitarists Stephen Harrison and Nick Sherman, following the departure of founding guitarist Scott Middleton in 2021.
