''Vaettiya Madichu Kattu'' () is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by K. Bhagyaraj. The film stars himself in lead role with his real-life son Shanthanu portraying his son with Nagma and Saikumar playing supporting roles. The film was remade in Hindi as '' Papa The Great'' (2000) and in Kannada as ''Vishalakshammana Ganda'' (2001). Plot Jaiprakash BE (Bhagyaraj) is a cowardly engineer working with Bharat Shipping Company in Mumbai. He lives with his wife and his son (Shanthanu). One day, he meets a fellow Tamilian (SS Chandran) who is in Mumbai to search for his sister and brother-in-law, who later turn out to be thieves. He gives him shelter for few days in his house. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child. Even though he was a Malayali, as was the case with the majority of contemporary South Indian migrants to Malaya then, his surroundings in Malaysia was dominated by the Tamil language and culture. Harini (born 30 April 1979) is an Indian film playback singer and classical singer who sings in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada films, working with many leading film composers.
