Kainuu
Kainuu ( sv, Kajanaland) is one of the 19 regions of Finland (''maakunta'' / ''landskap''). Kainuu borders the regions of North Ostrobothnia, North Savo and North Karelia. In the east, it also borders Russia (Republic of Karelia). Culturally Kainuu is part of larger Eastern-Finnish cultural heritage. The dialect of Kainuu resembles Savonian and Karelian dialects. Manamansalo
Manamansalo is the largest island in the Oulujärvi, the fifth largest lake in Finland. Administratively it belongs to the Vaala municipality in North Ostrobothnia, or Kainuu until 2016. It is the seventh largest inland island in Finland, or the fifth largest if Soisalo and Sääminginsalo are not counted as islands. Geography Manamansalo is located between the Ärjänselkä and Niskanselkä areas ( fjards) of Oulujärvi. The main village on the island is also known as Manamansalo. Other villages include Puronranta and Unelanperä. The road 8820 (Manamansalontie) goes through the island. Oulujärvi
Oulujärvi (; sv, Ule träsk; also known as Lake Oulu) is a large lake in the Kainuu region of Finland. With an area of it is the fifth largest lake in the country. The lake is drained by the Oulu River, which flows northwestward from the lake into the Gulf of Bothnia. Its nickname is the "Kainuu Sea", and it is bordered by the three municipalities of Vaala, Paltamo and Kajaani. About 40 percent of the lake is in Vaala. Kainuu Dialect

The Finnish national road 22 ( fi, Valtatie 22; sv, Riksväg 22; also known as ''Kainuuntie'', "Kainuu Road") is the main route between the major cities of Oulu and Kajaani in northern Finland. The road is long, and it is part of the national transport route network that connects two regions, North Ostrobothnia and Kainuu. At the Oulu end, the road connects to Highway 4 ( E8/ E75), while at the Kajaani end, it connects to Highway 5 ( E63). The Finnish Transport Agency improved the entrance section of Highway 22 in Oulu between Joutsentie and Konttisentie, with the aim of increasing traffic flow and safety. In this contract, the section of Highway 22 between Joutsentie and Haarankangas was widened into a four-lane median road and the section between Haarankangas and Sääskensuontie was improved to a two-lane median road. Savonian Dialects
The Savonian dialects (also called Savo Finnish)( fi, Savolaismurteet) are forms of the Finnish language spoken in Savonia and other parts of Eastern Finland. Finnish dialects are grouped broadly into Eastern and Western varieties; Savonian dialects are of the Eastern variety.
