VOKA
The Vlaams Economisch Verbond (VEV) is a Flemish employers' organization and lobbying group. The main objectives of the organization were the development of the Flemish economy and to improve the status of Flemish as a business language in Flanders. It is an important partner of the Flemish government on business in Flanders, and also participates in the Socio-economic Council of Flanders. History It was founded in 1908, by among others Lieven Gevaert as the ''Vlaamsch Handelsverbond'', to create a Flemish counterpart of the Federation of Belgian Enterprises, and it became the VEV in 1926. René De Feyter (193023 March 2011) was a Belgian politician, the managing director of the VEV from 1971 to 1993. Biography From 1956 to 1960, René de Feyter worked as a state official in Belgian Congo. In 1961, he started to work on the development project of the Port of Antwerp. In 1968, he launched the financial newspapers ''De Tijd'', and remained publishing director for 3 years. The Federation of Enterprises in Belgium ( nl, Verbond van Belgische Ondernemingen, VBO, french: Fédération des Entreprises de Belgique, FEB) is the only Belgian non-profit organization representing companies in all three regions of Belgium. Its members, the different Belgian sectorial employers' organizations, represent companies in key industrial and service sectors. All in all, it represents more than 30,000 businesses, of which 25,000 are small or medium-sized enterprises. Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) was founded by the Flemish government in 2005, by the fusion of 'Export Flanders' and 'Service of Investment in Flanders'. FIT helps Flemish companies expand their business abroad and assists foreign companies in finding Flemish suppliers of quality goods and services. Flanders Investment and Trade facilitate investment projects in Flanders and give support to Flemish export companies. The FIT is headed by Claire Tillekaerts. Prince Albert Fund
The Prince Albert Fund is a Belgian non-profit organization (fund) which provides a scholarship to young Belgian professionals to give them the opportunity to carry out a project for a Belgian company in international business development, outside Europe. The fund is managed by the King Baudouin Foundation and directed by a steering committee consisting of alumni of the Fund and representatives of FEB-VBO, VOKA, UWE and BECI. The Walloon Union of Companies or Union Wallonne des Entreprises (UWE) is the Walloon employers organization. History About 1965, when economic decentralization was becoming more pronounced in Belgium, Walloon business leaders felt the need for more organisation.
