VC Radiotechnik
Volleyball Club Radiotechnik () is a former Soviet club and after 1991 Latvian, based in Riga. During the seventies it rose to the European limelight thanks to the victory of 3 continental trophies, under the name Elektrotechnika. History The debut of the club in the Soviet championship dates back to 1947, but the first notable result is the second place in 1960. From that moment on, the team was one of the strongest players in the Soviet volleyball scene. From 1973 to 1983 it never dropped below the 5th place, and during that decade it was able to establish itself in Europe thanks to the victory of 3 CEV Cup Winners' Cups, two of which back to back. In 1984 the club achieved the maximum milestone in its history: It won the championship title, succeeding in the task of interrupting the streak of 14 consecutive titles of VC CSKA Moscow, CSKA Moscow. Riga
Riga (; lv, Rīga , liv, Rīgõ) is the capital and largest city of Latvia and is home to 605,802 inhabitants which is a third of Latvia's population. VC CSKA Moscow (russian: ВК ЦСКА Москва) was a Russian volleyball club. They played in the Russian Super League, winning the competition three times. The club is the most titled volleyball team in the Soviet Union / Russia and in Europe with 13 CEV Champions Leagues. In 2009, VC CSKA Moscow was disbanded due to financial problems. CEV Champions League
The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation. Formula (2018–19 to present) Qualification A total of 20 teams participate in the main competition, with 18 teams being allocated direct vacancies on the basis of ranking list for European Cup Competitions, and 2 teams from the qualification rounds. League round 20 teams take part in the League round where they are split in to 5 groups. After each match the following points are assigned: * Winner (3:0 or 3:1) – 3 points * Winner (3:2) – 2 points * Loser (2:3) – 1 point * Loser (1:3 or 0:3) – 0 points Each pool will be contested in a six-leg double round-robin home-and-away format. Pallavolo Parma
The Pallavolo Parma was one of the oldest and most successful professional man's volleyball clubs in Italy. Its colours were white and azure. Founded in Parma in the 1940s, after a sequence of incorporations with other teams, it is currently disappeared from Italian professional volleyball panorama. It won 8 national titles, 2 CEV Champions League and a number of other Italian and European trophies. History Founded in 1946 for initiative of the Railroaders's Recreative Club as ''Ferrovieri Parma'', the team took part for the first time at Serie A in 1949 and won its first national title in 1950. The CEV Cup is the second tier official competition for men's Volleyball clubs of Europe. The competition takes place every year. Until 2000, it was the CEV Cup Winners' Cup. Volleyball Clubs Established In 1947
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. The team may touch the ball up to three times to return the ball to the other side of the court, but individual players may not touch the ball twice consecutively. ...
