Vənənd
Vənənd is a village and municipality in the Ordubad District of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It is located in the near of the Ordubad-Unus highway, 17 km in the north-west from the district center, on the bank of the Vanandchay river. People of the village is busy with gardening, grain growing, cotton-growing, animal husbandry. There are secondary school, music school, library, culture house, a medical center and kindergarten in the village. It has a population of 2,347. The municipality consists of the villages of Vənənd and Xanağa. History Vanand is one of the ancient settlements of Azerbaijan. It is associated with the name of Vanandlar (people of Vanand). In the ancient cemetery were found the monuments of stone ram on the graves. In sources, in the Middle Ages it was a village in the Giran area of the Nakhchivan tumen. Xanağa
Xanağa (also Khanagha, known as Çapayevka until 2000) is a municipality and village in the Ordubad District of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It is located near the Ordubad-Vanand highway, 14 km in the north-west from the district center, on the left bank of the Araz River. Its population is busy with gardening, farming and animal husbandry. There are secondary school, club, library and a medical center in the village. It has a population of 665. It forms part of the municipality of Vənənd. Etymology The name of the village is most likely related with the sanctuary (''Khaneghah'') in its territory. Azerbaijan is administratively divided into 66 districts () and 11 cities () that are subordinate to the Republic. The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic ( az, Naxçıvan Muxtar Respublikası, ), is a landlocked exclave of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Ordubad District
Ordubad District ( az, Ordubad rayonu) is one of the 7 districts of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. The district borders the district of Julfa, as well as the Syunik Province of Armenia, and the East Azerbaijan Province of Iran. Its capital and largest city is Ordubad. As at 2020, the district had a population of 50,200. Baltic Sea
The Baltic Sea is an arm of the Atlantic Ocean that is enclosed by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden and the North and Central European Plain.
