Víctor Mora (6 June 1931 – 17 August 2016) was a Spanish comic book writer. A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by descriptive prose and written narrative, usually, dialogue contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form. "Comic Cuts" was a British comic published from 1890 to 1953. It was preceded by "Ally Sloper's Half Holiday" (1884) which is notable for its use of sequential cartoons to unfold narrative. Capitán Trueno
El Capitán Trueno (lit. "Captain Thunder") is the hero of a series of Spanish comic books, created in 1956 by the writer Víctor Mora and illustrated mainly by Miguel Ambrosio Zaragoza (Ambrós). The comics were published continuously between 1956 and 1968, with Trueno eventually becoming the most popular Spanish hero comic of all time: at its height it sold more than 170,000 copies every week. The series was inspired by Hal Foster's ''Prince Valiant''. Publication history The comic was first published in 1956. Portions of the comic books have also been published in several Latin American countries, Italy (as "Capitan Tuono"), Greece (having its own title "ΤΡΟΥΕΝΟ", by Nikolaos Deligiorgis editions), Portugal and France. El Jabato
''El Jabato'' (lit. "The young wild boar") is the hero of a series of Spanish comic books, created in 1958 by the writer Víctor Mora and illustrated mainly by Francisco Darnís. ''El Jabatos themes and cast of characters were similar to those of the other series created by Mora, ''Capitán Trueno'', although ''El Jabato'' is set in ancient Rome, while Capitán Trueno was a knight-errant of the Middle Ages. ''El Jabato'' concerns the adventures of two Iberian warriors, El Jabato and a giant, gluttonous sidekick, Taurus, who are taken from their native lands by the invading Roman armies. A third character (the girl), named Claudia, a Roman girl who eventually embraces Christianity, is also introduced in the first issue of the series. A fourth character was subsequently added. Carlos Giménez (comics)
Carlos Giménez (born 16 March 1941) is a Spanish comics artist. Biography Giménez was born in Madrid. His father, a welder, died shortly after his birth, and subsequently Giménez lived for years in an orphanage. Aged 17, he showed his drawings to Manuel López Blanco, who hired him as assistant for his works for Ibergraf agency. After 1962, he shared a studio with Esteban Maroto and Adolfo Usero, executing war stories for Editorial Maga and the series Buck Jones. After a period working for the Selecciones Illustradas agency at Barcelona, in 1963 Giménez launched ''El Gringo'', a western series, for Toutain; for the same publisher he also worked to several romantic comics books. In 1967-1968 he worked at ''Delta 99'', a science fiction series, and produced several humour stories for the German market (Tom Berry and Kiko 2000). Luis García Mozos
Luis García Mozos (born 1946) is a Spanish comic book artist. Career Early career More widely known in English as just Luis García, he was born in Puertollano, Spain in 1946. Garcia moved to Barcelona at the age of 10 to focus on his art and became an art apprentice at Editoria Bruguera at the age of 13. In 1961, he joined the well known Spanish agency Selecciones Illustradas and started drawing western and romance comics that were published in Britain. Six years later he joined a group of fellow artists Esteban Maroto, Ramon Torrents, Suso Pena and Adolfo Usero Abellan, who created the series ''5 x Infinity''. Work for Warren Publishing In 1971 García joined Warren Publishing, where he drew nine stories for '' Creepy'', '' Eerie'' and '' Vampirella''.
