Víctor Lapeña
Víctor Antonio Lapeña Tortosa (born 12 March 1975, in Zaragoza) is a Spanish basketball coach who is the head coach of the Canada women's national basketball team. Club career He coached several teams in Spain, both in the second tier league (2003-2008) and the first tier league (2008-2018). He won the Spanish League in the 2012-13 season, and the 2014 Spanish Cup with CB Avenida. In the 2018-2019 season he coached his first team abroad, Nadezhda Orenburg from the Russian Premier League, winning the second-tier 2018–19 EuroCup Women. On 29 June 2019 he signed for Turkish club Fenerbahçe National team Lapeña has worked with the Spanish Basketball Federation as both assistant and head coach in the youth teams and the senior team, winning a total of 14 medals. Basketball coaching is the act of directing and strategizing the behavior of a basketball team or individual basketball player. Basketball coaching typically encompasses the improvement of individual and team offensive and defensive skills, as well as overall physical conditioning. Coaches also have the responsibility to improve their team by player development, strategy, and in-game management. Coaches also teach and inspire their team to be their best. Coaching is usually performed by a single person, often with the help of one or more assistants. The Turkish Women's Basketball Presidential Cup (Turkish: ''Kadınlar Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kupası''), or Turkish Women's Basketball Super Cup, is the professional basketball women's club super cup competition that takes place each year in Turkey. The 2009 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2009, was the 32nd regional championship held by FIBA Europe. The competition was held in Latvia from June 7 to June 20, 2009. Russian Women's Basketball Premier League
The Russian Women's Basketball Premier League is the premier women's basketball competition in Russia. The category consists of 11 teams playing a total of 20 rounds. At the end of the regular season the top eight teams play the play-offs throughout April, ending in a 5 matches final. UMMC Ekaterinburg is the most successful team in the championship with 15 titles, including a record 13-year winning streak.
