Allmogekor
Allmogekor (singular Allmogeko, ) are the traditional Swedish breeds of cattle. The word means roughly "rustic cattle". Individual breeds There are a number of Allmogeko breeds. The herdbook for three of them – the Bohuskulla, the Ringamålako and the Väneko – is kept by the Föreningen Allmogekon, which works to conserve these three. The herd book for the Fjällnära Boskap is kept by the Föreningen för Äldre Svensk Boskap, and that for the Rödkulla by the Sveriges Rödkulleförening. On its Red List, the Swedish Samarbetsgruppen Lantrasforum (Cooperative Group Landrace Forum) ranks all five of these Allmogeko breeds in the highest risk level, "acutely threatened". It is similar to the type of Swedish Red-and-White cattle of the 1940s, and is considered a valuable genetic resource. History The Ringamålako is a traditional domestic Swedish breed. The Bohuskulla is an endangered Swedish breed of hornless mountain cattle. It originates from the area of the plateau in northern Bohuslän and Dalsland, in western Sweden. Skånes Djurpark (English: ''Scania Zoo'') is a Swedish zoological park located in Höör Municipality, Skåne County. A piebald or pied animal is one that has a pattern of unpigmented spots (white) on a pigmented background of hair, feathers or scales. Thus a piebald black and white dog is a black dog with white spots. The animal's skin under the white background is not pigmented. Location of the unpigmented spots is dependent on the migration of melanoblasts (primordial pigment cells) from the neural crest to paired bilateral locations in the skin of the early embryo. The resulting pattern appears symmetrical only if melanoblasts migrate to both locations of a pair and proliferate to the same degree in both locations. Höör
Höör (formerly spelled Hör, , old da, Hør) is a locality and the seat of Höör Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 7,865 inhabitants in 2010. Name The town was previously known as Hørg (in the 12th century), Hørgh (in the 15th century), and later Hør and Hör. The present, unusual spelling with double " ö" was implemented by the Swedish postal service at the beginning of the 20th century.
