Vydrica (river)
Vydrica ( hu, Vödric, german: Weidritz) is a small long river in south-western Slovakia, which originates in the Little Carpathians mountains at about 450 m AMSL and flows into the Danube through the capital Bratislava. The river passes through the Bratislava Forest Park and enters the Danube in Karlova Ves borough. Some localities along the river are part of Natura 2000. It is one of few rivers in Slovakia to flow directly into the Danube. Geography Vydrica originates underneath the Biely kríž col underneath the ''Malý Javorník'' peak, in an area called Dubové. It flows south-west through the Bratislava Forest Park, collecting an unknown tributary and feeding two man-made water basins. It turns towards west creating four meanders in 2 kilometers of its length and close to the quarry underneath the ''Hrubý vrch'' mountain (394,0 AMSL) it turns again towards south. Little Carpathians
The Little Carpathians (also: ''Lesser Carpathians'', sk, Malé Karpaty; german: Kleine Karpaten; hu, Kis-Kárpátok) are a low, about 100 km long, mountain range, part of the Carpathian Mountains. The mountains are situated in Western Slovakia, covering the area from Bratislava to Nové Mesto nad Váhom, and northeastern Austria, where a very small part called Hundsheimer Berge (or Hainburger Berge) is located south of the Devín Gate. The Little Carpathians are bordered by Záhorie Lowland in the west and the Danubian Lowland in the east. In 1976, the Little Carpathians were declared a protected area under the name Little Carpathians Protected Landscape Area, covering . Podhradie, Bratislava
Podhradie ( lat, Suburbium; german: Schlossgrund; hu, Pozsony-Várallya) is a historical part of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, situated around the Bratislava Castle hill. Today, it consists of the areas of Zuckermandel, Vydrica and the area above Židovská Street. Until the 13th century, Podhradie consisted of various settlements situated around the castle, outside of the Bratislava city walls with all land on the castle hill belonging to the castle.
