Vydas Dolinskas
Vydas Dolinskas (born 1970 in Jonava) is Lithuanian art critic, art historian, director of Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Dolinskas went to Jonava 3rd Middle School from 1977 to 1988. 1988–1993 he studied at the Faculty of History at Vilnius University. In 1992, he studied at the University of Salzburg, Faculty of Humanities and Art History Institute. From 1993 to 1998 he was a doctoral student at Vilnius University. Dolinskas defended his doctoral thesis about Simonas Kosakovskis. Jonava ( ; pl, Janów; german: Janau) is the ninth largest city in Lithuania with a population of . It is located in Kaunas County in central Lithuania, north east of Kaunas, the second-largest city in Lithuania. It is served by Kaunas International Airport. The Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania ( lt, Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės valdovų rūmai Vilniaus žemutinėje pilyje; pl, Zamek Dolny w Wilnie) is a palace in Vilnius, Lithuania. It was originally constructed in the 15th century for the rulers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the future Kings of Poland. The palace, located in the lower castle of Vilnius, evolved over the years and prospered during the 16th and mid-17th centuries. For four centuries the palace was the political, administrative and cultural centre of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. It was demolished in 1801. Work on a new palace started in 2002 on the site of the original building and it took 16 years to complete it in 2018. Szymon Marcin Kossakowski ( lt, Simonas Martynas Kosakovskis; 1741 in Šilai, Jonava – 1794) was a Polish–Lithuanian nobleman (szlachcic), and one of the leaders of the Targowica Confederation.
