Vuk, Ban Of Bosnia
Vuk (died after 1378) was the Ban of Bosnia from 1366 until 1367, a member of the Kotromanić dynasty that ruled the Banate of Bosnia since the turn of the 14th century. Vuk was the younger son of Vladislav Kotromanić and Jelena Šubić, who were married in 1337. His brother, Tvrtko I, became Ban of Bosnia following the death of their paternal uncle, Stephen II, in 1353. Their father acted as regent until his death in 1354, followed by their mother taking over the role of regent until Tvrtko reached the age of majority in 1357. Vuk accompanied Jelena when she traveled to Hungary in 1354 to request consent to Tvrtko's accession from their overlord, King Louis I of Hungary. In July 1357, Tvrtko and Vuk were confirmed as joint rulers of Bosnia and Usora by King Louis under two conditions: one of the brothers would be at Louis's court whenever the other is in Bosnia, and they would make an effort to suppress the "heretical" Bosnian Church. Vuk Stefanović Karadžić ( sr-Cyrl, Вук Стефановић Караџић, ; 6 November 1787 (26 October OS)7 February 1864) was a Serbian philologist, anthropologist and linguist. He was one of the most important reformers of the modern Serbian language. For his collection and preservation of Serbian folktales, ''Encyclopædia Britannica'' labelled Karadžić "the father of Serbian folk-literature scholarship." He was also the author of the first Serbian dictionary in the new reformed language. In addition, he translated the New Testament into the reformed form of the Serbian spelling and language. He was well known abroad and familiar to Jacob Grimm, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and historian Leopold von Ranke. ''The Little Fox'', known in Hungary as ''Vuk'', is a 1981 Hungarian animated film produced by Pannónia Filmstúdió, based on the novel '' Vuk'' by István Fekete. The film is directed by Attila Dargay and written by Attila Dargay, István Imre and Ede Tarbay, and released in December of 1981. A computer-animated sequel, '' A Fox's Tale'', was released in 2008 to negative reception. Plot The film tells the story of a little red fox kit, Vic (Vuk in the original Hungarian version), who ventures away from his family's den and, upon his return finds it empty. He concludes that his whole family left the den with the human hunter (called "Smoothskinner" in the cartoon) because he can smell him. ''Vuk'' is a 1965 children's novel by Hungarian writer István Fekete about the life of a young red fox. Plot Vuk and his brothers and sisters are born near the pond one spring. Their father Kag and their mother Iny have to hunt continuously to get enough food to feed them. Then the Ranger finds the fox's home and sends in dogs to destroy the foxes that have been stealing from the village farmyards. The fox parents manage to save only one of their children: Vuk, who is left by the pond out of danger. It is not long before the frightened Vuk is found by Karak his uncle who takes the little fox under his care and takes him to his cave in the cliffs to teach him the ways of the forest. Vuk learns quickly and soon becomes one of the greatest foxes in the wood. Vuk also learns that the smooth-skin Ranger is responsible for the murder of his parents, and he plans to take revenge on him. D'Bari
The D'Bari are a fictional alien race appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They are most known as the people whose star system was destroyed by Phoenix during the Dark Phoenix Saga (1980). The D'Bari appeared in the 2019 film '' Dark Phoenix'' with their leader Vuk portrayed by Jessica Chastain. Vuk () is a computer prototype designed by a group of students from Leskovac in SFRY (now Serbia). It was supposed to be a multipurpose educational computer. The development started in 1984 and in 1988 about ten prototypes were produced. The FAJ Jastreb Vuk-T often called Vuk (Serbian:''Vuk'' - Wolf) is a Standard Class single-seat high-performance glider, intended for transition training, designed and built in the Yugoslavia from the late 1970s. Design and development Designed by Prof. Dr. Tomislav Dragović at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Aero Engineering Institute, University of Belgrade, the Vuk-T was manufactured by FAJ Jastreb in Vršac entirely from fiberglass. After manufacture the gliders were first tested by the JRV and JNA before donation to state-sponsored aero clubs across the country. The Advanced Access Content System (AACS) is a standard for content distribution and digital rights management, intended to restrict access to and copying of the post- DVD generation of optical discs. The specification was publicly released in April 2005. The standard has been adopted as the access restriction scheme for HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc (BD). It is developed by AACS Licensing Administrator, LLC (AACS LA), a consortium that includes Disney, Intel, Microsoft, Panasonic, Warner Bros., IBM, Toshiba and Sony.
