Mladenovac
Mladenovac ( sr-cyr, Младеновац, ) is a municipality of the city of Belgrade. According to the 2011 census results, the municipality has a population of 53,050 inhabitants, while the urban area has 23,314 inhabitants. Name Its name stems from word 'youth' in Serbian. According to a legend, the emergence of the name is brought in connection with a man named Mladen, who established himself after the battle on the Kosovo in 1389 with his two brothers in this desert area. The brothers separated and the place, where Mladen had established himself, was called Mladenovac. History In the village of Kovačevac, from downtown Mladenovac, there is an archaeological locality Divičmeđ. It spreads on in the valley of the Veliki Lug river and contains remains from the prehistoric and medieval periods. Alcante, pen name of Didier Swysen (born 21 November 1970, Belgium) is a Belgian comics writer, best known for his series ''Pandora’s Box''. Biography Alcante has studied economic sciences and worked in academic research, when he won a comics writing contest of publisher Dupuis in 1995. The winning story was published in '' Spirou'' magazine. It took another seven years before he regularly began to publish short stories there. ''Pandora Box'' is his first series. Éditions Dupuis S.A. () is a Belgium, Belgian publisher of comic albums and magazines. Based in Marcinelle near Charleroi, Dupuis was founded in 1922 by Jean Dupuis, and is mostly famous for its comic comics album, albums and magazines. It is originally a French language publisher, but publishes many editions both in French and Dutch language, Dutch. Other language editions are mostly licensed to other publishers. Dečje novine (; ''Children's newspaper'') was a publishing house based in Gornji Milanovac. It was known as the largest comics publisher of the former Yugoslavia. It also published books, magazines and sticker albums. They had almost exclusive right to publish comics of The Walt Disney Company in Yugoslavia, and excelled as publishers of DC Comics and Marvel Comics comic books. Dečje novine were founded in 1956 by Srećko Jovanović. With the outbreak of war in Yugoslavia and the collapse of the state they collapsed in the early 1990s. Darko Macan (born 1966) is a Croatian writer and illustrator who has created and collaborated on comics, essays and science fiction and fantasy. He is also an editor. Biography Born in Zagreb, where he still lives, he has a degree in history and archeology from the University of Zagreb. He has drawn and written many comic books, mostly in Croatian, but in 1993 he broke into the American comics industry when he and fellow Croatian artist Edvin Biuković submitted their work to Dark Horse Comics.
