Vuelta Chihuahua International
Vuelta Chihuahua Internacional (Vuelta a Chihuahua) was a stage race held annually in October in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. The Vuelta a Chihuahua was first contested in 2005, as part of the UCI America Tour schedule, and was run over seven stages (days). The Chihuahua's diverse geography, including mountains, forests, and farmland, contributed to the challenge of the race. The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Francisco Mancebo Pérez (born 9 March 1976) is a Spanish professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . He initially rode for team , but moved to in 2006. Mancebo is a stage race specialist, with good climbing and individual time trial performances. He was the winner of the Spanish National Road Race Championships in 2004, and finished third in the Vuelta a España. He finished sixth in the 2004 Tour de France and fourth in the 2005 Tour de France. He also won a stage of the 2005 Vuelta a España and finished fourth in the general classification. Career Born in Madrid, Mancebo won the young rider classification at the 2000 Tour de France. A race stage, leg, or heat is a unit of a race that has been divided in several parts for the reason such as length of the distance to be covered, as in a multi-day event. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the world's governing body in the sport of bicycle racing, classifies races according to a rating scale. Andalucía () was a cycling team based in Spain; the team was managed by Antonio Cabello, and assisted by Juan Martinez as a directeur sportif. The team currently does not hold a requisite licence to compete in professional cycle racing, after the team were rejected a Professional Continental licence – where the team had competed at since 2006 – in December 2012.
