Vsyaka Nedelya (Bulgarian Broadcast)
"Vsyaka Nedelya" ( bg, Всяка неделя, literally "Every Sunday") is a Bulgarian television program hosted and edited by journalist Kevork Kevorkian. It is one of the most successful television shows on Bulgarian television. History The first episode aired January 7, 1979 on BNT 1. "Vsyaka Nedelya" was initially under the "Information" category and the successor to the program "TV Lens." It was taken off the air on four separate occasions. The host of the original show was Yancho Takov. Kevork Kevorkian has interviewed hundreds of famous and significant people from Bulgaria and around the world, including Todor Zhivkov, Radoy Ralin, Georgi Partsalev, Slavi Trifonov and others. The team behind the show is one of the first to have created a nationwide donation movement; over 3 million leva have been collected, with which about 100 soldiers' monuments were restored. BNT 1
BNT 1 () is a Bulgarian-language public television station founded in 1959. It began broadcasting on December 26 the same year. The headquarters are located in Sofia, Bulgaria. BNT 1 is run by the Bulgarian National Television. History When it was initially launched, the channel was called simply ''Bulgarian Television'' (''Българска телевизия''), as it was the only channel available. When a second state-owned channel was started in 1974, it was renamed to ''First Programme'' (''Първа програма''), and later to ''"BT 1"'' (''БТ 1'') (with ''BT'' still referring to ''Bulgarian Television''). In 1992, BT 1 and BT 2 were given separate visual designs and were renamed respectively to ''Channel 1'' (''Канал 1'') and ''Efir 2'' (''Ефир 2''). Todor Hristov Zhivkov ( bg, Тодор Христов Живков ; 7 September 1911 – 5 August 1998) was a Bulgarian communist statesman who served as the ''de facto'' leader of the People's Republic of Bulgaria (PRB) from 1954 until 1989 as General Secretary of the Bulgarian Communist Party. He was the second longest-serving leader in the Eastern Bloc after Yumjaagiin Tsedenbal, the longest-serving leader within the Warsaw Pact and the longest-serving non-royal ruler in Bulgarian history. Georgi Partsalev
Georgi Ivanov Partsalev ( bg, Георги Иванов Парцалев; 16 June 1925 – 31 October 1989) was a Bulgarian theatre and film actor mainly known for his roles in comedies. Born in Levski, Pleven Province in 1925, Partsalev finished high school in Pleven and studied medicine from Sofia University. In 1956, he was employed by the Satirical Theatre in Sofia. His first film role came in 1958 with '' Lyubimets 13''. Stanislav Todorov Trifonov ( bg, Станислав Тодоров Трифонов; born 18 October 1966), known as Slavi Trifonov ( bg, Слави Трифонов), is a Bulgarian TV host, musician and politician. Trifonov is mainly active in the traditional Bulgarian folklore music genres, but he has experimented with other genres such as hip-hop in collaboration with the Australian-based producer Yasen Subev, and pop-rock and punk as a part of Ku-Ku Band ( bg, Ку-Ку Бенд). The lev ( bg, лев, plural: / , ; ISO 4217 code: BGN; numeric code: 975) is the currency of Bulgaria. In old Bulgarian the word "lev" meant "lion", the word 'lion' in the modern language is ''lаv'' (; in Bulgarian: ). The lev is divided in 100 ''stotinki'' (, singular: , ). Stotinka in Bulgarian means "a hundredth" and in fact is a translation of the French term "centime". Grammatically the word "stotinka" comes from the word "sto" (сто) - a hundred. Since 1997, the lev has been in a currency board arrangement with initially the Deutsche Mark at a fixed rate of BGL 1000 to DEM 1. After the introduction of the euro and the redenomination of the lev in 1999, this has resulted in a fixed rate to the euro of BGN 1.95583 : EUR 1. Nova, stylized as NOVA and previously marketed as NTV or Nova Television, is a Bulgarian free-to-air television network launched on 16 July 1994 ( 28 years ago ). Nova TV, alongside the channels Kino Nova, Nova Sport, DIEMA, Diema Family and Diema Sport are part of Nova Broadcasting Group and owned by United Group.
