Voyager (Paul Epworth Album)
''Voyager'' is the debut studio album by British record producer and musician Paul Epworth. It was released on 11 September 2020 through Columbia Records. A concept album about space inspired by science fiction films, ''Voyager'' includes collaborations with Ishmael, Elle Yaya, Lil Silva, Vince Staples, Ty Dolla Sign, Kool Keith, Jay Electronica, Bibi Bourelly and Lianne La Havas. The tracks "Voyager", "Space Inc.", "Mars & Venus" and "Love Galaxy" were released in advance of the album. Background After over 15 years of working as a producer on other artists' albums, ''Voyager'' is Epworth's debut project under his own name. He began work on the album in 2015, and finished it in 2019. Paul Epworth
Paul Richard Epworth (born 25 July 1974) is an English record producer, songwriter, musician, and remixer. He has worked with artists including Adele, Florence and the Machine, Rihanna, and Maxïmo Park, among many others. He is a member of the Music Producers Guild and is the founder and owner of the independent record label Wolf Tone, which has released music from Glass Animals, Rosie Lowe, and The Horrors. Epworth has won the BRIT Award for Producer of the Year three times, the most recent in 2015. He has won seven Grammy Awards, as well as the Academy Award for Best Original Song for " Skyfall". Trap Music
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence.
