Dimitrios Votsis
Dimitrios Votsis (Greek: Δημήτριος Βότσης; c. 1841 – 28 October 1917) was a Greece, Greek politician and served as the mayor of Patras. His family hailed from Paramythia in Thesprotia, Epirus (Greece), Epirus. He was the son of Athanasios and Eleni Votsi, who were among the first settlers of the city after their struggle for an independent Greece in Epirus was unsuccessful. Votsis pursued a legal education and subsequently worked as a judge in Patras. Career In 1891, Dimitrios Votsis was elected to the municipal council of Patras and assumed the position of president. Four years later, he formed a coalition with Achilleas Gerokostopoulos and was re-elected. Votsis went on to serve as the mayor of Patras in 1899, and he was subsequently re-elected in two more elections, in 1903 and 1907. Nikolaos Votsis
Nikolaos Votsis ( el, Νικόλαος Βότσης; 1877–1931) was a Greek naval officer who distinguished himself during the Balkan Wars and rose to the rank of Rear Admiral. Life Votsis was born in the island of Hydra in 1877. He belonged to the prominent Votsis-Kountouriotis family: he was the nephew of admiral Pavlos Kountouriotis, while his maternal great-grandfather was Georgios Kountouriotis, participant of the Greek War of Independence. During his studies at the Naval Academy, he served in the naval blockade of Crete in 1896–97, in the run-up to the Greco-Turkish War of 1897. He then spent the period 1904-1906 in training service in the French Navy. At the outbreak of the First Balkan War in October 1912, with the rank of Lieutenant, he was commanding torpedo boat No. 11, a vessel already old at the time (it belonged to a batch of six constructed in Stettin in 1884).
