Voss Line
The Voss Line ( no, Vossebanen) is a railway line from Bergen to Voss in Vestland, Norway. It opened on 11 July 1883 and was extended to Oslo as the Bergen Line on 27 November 1909. It was built as narrow gauge, but converted to with the connection with the Bergen Line. It was electrified in 1954, and shortened by the Ulriken Tunnel in 1963. In addition to carrying long-haul passenger and freight trains on the Bergen Line, it is the main part of Bergen Commuter Rail. Bergen Commuter Rail
Bergen Commuter Rail, sometimes called Vossebanen, is a commuter rail service between Bergen and Arna, Voss and Myrdal, Norway. It is operated by Vy using Stadler FLIRT electric multiple units. It runs on the mainline Bergen Line and all services terminate at Bergen Station. Service Vy operates on half-hour headways from Bergen to Arna, through the Ulriken Tunnel, the only way under the Ulriken mountain. There are further 16 departures each way to Voss, of which six stop only at Arna and Dale before Voss, not allowing trips Bergen-Arna/Bergen-Dale, while ten stop at all stations, giving three services per direction an hour between Bergen and Arna. Three services continue from Voss to Myrdal. The operational deficits are financed by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications. Tickets are sold by Vy and Entur. Hardanger Line
The Hardanger Line ( no, Hardangerbana or Hardangerbanen) was a railway between Voss and Granvin in Hordaland, Norway. The line connected to the Bergen Line in Voss, and ran to the Hardangerfjord and the district of Hardanger. Construction started in 1921, but the line did not open until 1 April 1935. Owned and operated by the Norwegian State Railways (NSB), the passenger transport was provided by three NSB Class 64 electric multiple units. They remained in use until 1985, when passenger transport was terminated. All transport ceased in 1988, and of the line was demolished in 1991. The Flåm Line ( no, Flåmsbana) is a long railway line between Myrdal and Flåm in Aurland Municipality, in Vestland county, Norway.
