As of 24 March 2022, there are 344 municipalities ( nl, gemeenten) and three special municipalities () in the Netherlands. Bussloo is a village in the municipality of Voorst in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. Lebuinus
Lebuinus (also known as ''Lebuin'', ''Lebwin'' or ''Liafwin ') is the Apostle of the Frisians and patron of Deventer (born in England of Anglo-Saxon parents, date unknown; died at Deventer c. 775). Life Lebuinus was a monk in Wilfrid's monastery at Ripon. Inspired by the example of Saint Boniface, Saint Willibrord and other great English missionaries, he resolved to devote his life to the conversion of the Germans. After his ordination, he proceeded in 754 to Utrecht, and was welcomed by Saint Gregory, acting bishop of that place, who entrusted him with the mission of Overijssel on the borders of Westphalia, and gave him a companion - Marchelm (or Marcellinus), a disciple of Saint Willibrord. IJssel
The IJssel (; nds-nl, Iessel(t) ) is a Dutch distributary of the river Rhine that flows northward and ultimately discharges into the IJsselmeer (before the 1932 completion of the Afsluitdijk known as the Zuiderzee), a North Sea natural harbour. It more immediately flows into the east-south channel around the Flevopolder, Flevoland which is kept at 3 metres below sea level. This body of water is then pumped up into the IJsselmeer. It is sometimes called the Gelderse IJssel (; "Gueldern IJssel") to distinguish it from the Hollandse IJssel. It is in the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel. The Romans knew the river as Isala. Wilp
Wilp is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Voorst, about 4 km south of Deventer. Wilp was a separate municipality between 1812 and 1818, when it was merged with Voorst. History It was first mentioned between 840 and 849 as Huilpa. The etymology is unknown. The settlement started along the IJssel river. Around 765, a chapel was founded by Lebuinus. During the 19th century, a linear settlement appeared along the road from Deventer to Voorst. The church dates from the 11th century, the tower has been enlarged around 1500. In 1945, it was damaged and restored between 1949 and 1953. The estate Lathmer was originally a ''havezate'' and probably dated from the 16th century. A new estate was built in 1866 which burned down in 1911, and was replaced by the current building which was based on drawings of the old havezate. Zutphen
Zutphen () is a city and municipality located in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It lies some 30 km northeast of Arnhem, on the eastern bank of the river Ijssel at the point where it is joined by the Berkel. Twello is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Voorst, about southwest of Deventer. Twello is a village between the cities Deventer and Apeldoorn. It has several primary schools, among them , a public school, which means it has no religion tied to it; Sint Martinus, a Catholic primary school, located in front of the Sint Martinuskerk (see picture); , a Christian primary school located next to the Town Hall and , a Christian primary school. Teuge
Teuge is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland, between Apeldoorn and Deventer. It is part of the municipality of Voorst. Its population is around 800 people and it is best known for being the location of Teuge International Airport. The main access road is the N344. Since 2001, Ecotribe Teuge is a squatted former barracks. History The village was first mentioned in 1333 or 1334 as "oppen Toghe". The etymology is unknown. Teuge was home to 537 people in 1840. Deventer
Deventer (; Sallands: ) is a city and municipality in the Salland historical region of the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. In 2020, Deventer had a population of 100,913. The city is largely situated on the east bank of the river IJssel, but it also has a small part of its territory on the west bank. In 2005 the municipality of Bathmen (with a population of about 5,000 people) was merged with Deventer as part of a national effort to reduce bureaucracy in the country. Nijbroek is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Voorst, about 12 km northeast of Apeldoorn. Nijbroek was a separate municipality until 1818, when it was merged with Voorst. History It was first mentioned in 1328 as Niebroeck, and means "new swampy land". Apeldoorn
Apeldoorn (; Dutch Low Saxon: ) is a municipality and city in the province of Gelderland in the centre of the Netherlands. It is located about 60 km east of Utrecht, 60 km west of Enschede, 25 km north of Arnhem and 35 km south of Zwolle.
