Voodoo Six
Voodoo Six is a British hard rock band formed in the summer of 2003 by bassist Tony Newton and guitarist Richie Faulkner. The current line-up of the band consists of Nik Taylor-Stoakes (lead vocals), Matt Pearce (guitar), Tony Newton (bass), Joe Lazarus (drums) and Tommy Gentry (guitar). History The band was conceived by bassist Tony Newton (ex-Dirty Deeds) and guitarist Richie Faulkner following a brief stopover by Newton in Los Angeles for production work. Upon his return to England, he and Faulkner began recruiting members for the band, before starting on the club circuit. In 2005, supplemented by drummer Dave "Grav" Cavill, vocalist Henry Rundell, and second guitarist Matt Pearce, they opened for Iron Maiden at the Hammersmith Apollo. Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Spinefarm Records is a Finnish independent record label focusing mainly on heavy metal artists. It is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. History Spinefarm Records was originally founded in 1990 by Riku Pääkkönen as a mail-order distribution company for rock and heavy metal albums and singles, but later became a record label for Finnish acts such as Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and Sonata Arctica. Since 2002, Spinefarm has been part of Universal Music Group, but operates as an independent business unit. ''Powerage'' is the fifth studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, released in 1978. This was the band's first album to feature Cliff Williams on bass guitar, and it was also the first AC/DC album not to have a title track (aside from the Australia-only ''High Voltage'' album) and the first worldwide not to be released with a different album cover. Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in Birmingham in 1969. They have sold over 50 million albums and are frequently ranked as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. Richard Ian Faulkner (born 1 January 1980) is an English musician best known as one of the lead guitarists for the heavy metal band Judas Priest since 2011, replacing original member K. K. Downing. Faulkner has also performed with Lauren Harris, Christopher Lee, Voodoo Six, Dirty Deeds, and Ace Mafia. Biography Early life and career Faulkner was born in London, and lived in Stockholm, Sweden, where he worked as a sausage seller between 1995 and 2000, and learned to speak Swedish while living in the country. His inspiration to pick up a guitar was watching recordings of Jimi Hendrix's concerts at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and at the Atlanta Pop Festival in 1970. Tank (stylized as TANK) is the name of two British heavy metal bands, both of which stem from a band formed in 1980 by Algy Ward, a former member of The Damned. Sir Bruce Joseph Forsyth-Johnson (22 February 1928 – 18 August 2017) was a British entertainer and presenter whose career spanned more than 70 years. The Maiden England World Tour was a concert tour by Iron Maiden, which began on 21 June 2012 in Charlotte, North Carolina and ended on 5 July 2014 with a performance at the Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth, UK. The tour's setlist was largely based on the original 1989 concert video of the same name, shot during the Seventh Tour of a Seventh Tour in 1988, which was re-released in 2013. Because of this, the tour's setlist consisted almost entirely of the band's 1980s material, with a particular focus on their 1988 album, ''Seventh Son of a Seventh Son''.
