Bruce Von Hoff
Bruce Frederick Von Hoff (November 17, 1943 – September 11, 2012) was a Major League Baseball pitcher. He was born in Oakland, California. Von Hoff pitched in a total of thirteen games for the Houston Astros in the 1965 and 1967 seasons. He died at his home in Gulfport, Florida. Karl Ernst Adolf Von Hoff
Karl Ernst Adolf von Hoff (1 November 1771 in Gotha – 24 May 1837 in Gotha) was a German natural historian and geologist. After studying law, physics and natural history, in 1791 he was appointed to a diplomatic post by Ernest II, Duke of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg. From 1832 onwards he was the director of Gotha's royal science and art collections and he also wrote the five-volume ''Geschichte der durch Überlieferung nachgewiesenen natürlichen Veränderungen der Erdoberfläche'' from 1822 to 1841. Career and Contributions to Geology In 1813 Von Hoff became Privy Councilor. From 1817 to 1820, he cooperated with Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in the reorganization of the University of Jena. After the death of the last duke of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, Frederick IV, who died without descendants, von Hoff introduced the new inheritance regulations to prevent the scattering of the rich scientific collections and art collections in Gotha at Schloss Friedenstein, which he took over in 1832. Steele Von Hoff (born 31 December 1987) is an Australian road racing cyclist, who most recently rode for Australian amateur team InForm TMX MAKE. In 2018, Von Hoff won the gold medal in the road race at the Commonwealth Games. Career In 2011, Von Hoff and teammate Nathan Haas dominated Australia's domestic National Road Series. The two riders entered the 2011 Herald Sun Tour, a race featuring numerous UCI ProTeams. Von Hoff progressed from third on stage two to second on stage three; Haas won the general classification. In January 2012, Von Hoff joined the , an American cycling squad, which competes in the UCI Continental Circuits. On 1 August 2012, while competing with the , Von Hoff was promoted to ''stagiaire'' in UCI ProTeam ; he was subsequently reunited with Haas.
