Volume (film)
''Volume'' is a 2012 short film directed by Mahalia Belo, written by Anna Ingeborg Topsøe, and starring Joe Cole and Anna Brewster. It won the Best British Short film at the 2012 Moët British Independent Film Awards and the Grand Jury Prize for Best Film at San Francisco Shorts 2013. It was also part of the official selection at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival while also appearing at numerous other film festival. Mahalia Belo is an English film and television director. Biography Belo graduated from the National Film and Television School in 2012. Her graduation film, ''Volume'' won a BIFA award in the Best British Short Film category and was shown at the Sundance Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival. She won a 2017 British Academy Television Craft Award in the best breakthrough talent category for her work directing the television drama ''Ellen''. Joseph Michael Cole (born 28 November 1988) is an English actor from Kingston, London. Anna Brewster is an English actress and model. Early life Anna Brewster is from Moseley, Birmingham. She attended St Bernard's RC School, Kings Heath Junior School and Queensbridge School in Moseley before studying for her A levels at Solihull Sixth Form College. A short film is any motion picture that is short enough in running time not to be considered a feature film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits". In the United States, short films were generally termed short subjects from the 1920s into the 1970s when confined to two 35 mm reels or less, and featurettes for a film of three or four reels. 2013 Sundance Film Festival
The 2013 Sundance Film Festival took place from January 17, 2013, until January 27, 2013, in Park City, Utah, United States, with screenings in Salt Lake City, Utah, Ogden, Utah, and Sundance, Utah. The festival had 1,830 volunteers. National Film And Television School
The National Film and Television School (NFTS) is a film, television and games school established in 1971 and based at Beaconsfield Studios in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, England. It is featured in the 2021 ranking by ''The Hollywood Reporter'' of the top 15 International film schools. Its community of students makes around a hundred and fifty films a year on courses that are over 90% practical and unlike courses offered at other UK film schools.
