Volodymyrets ( uk, Володимирець, russian: Влaдимирец, pl, Włodzimierzec) is an urban-type settlement in Rivne Oblast (province) in western Ukraine. The town was also formerly he administrative center of Volodymyrets Raion (district), housing the district's local administration buildings until the raion's abolition, but is now administered within Varash Raion. Its population is 8,699 as of the 2001 Ukrainian Census. Current population: The town is located at the confluence of the Styr and Horyn rivers. Volodymyrets was first founded in ancient Kievan Rus' times, and it acquired the status of an urban-type settlement in 1957. Volodymyrets Raion
Volodymyrets Raion ( uk, Володимирецький район) was a raion in Rivne Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center was the urban-type settlement of Volodymyrets. The raion was abolished and its territory was merged into Varash Raion on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Rivne Oblast to four. Rafalivka ( uk, Рафалівка; pl, Rafałówka) is an urban-type settlement in Varash Raion (district) of Rivne Oblast (province) in western Ukraine. Its population is 3,278 as of the 2001 Ukrainian Census. Current population: The settlement was founded in 1902 as poz'izd Polytsi ( uk, роз'їзд Полиці). Its name was changed to Nova Rafalivka ( uk, Нова Рафалівка) in 1927. Maksym Ivanovych Kidruk ( uk, Максим Іванович Кідрук; born 1 April 1984) is a Ukrainian travelogue and fiction writer. His professional career began in 2009 with an autobiographical novel ''The Mexican Chronicles'', describing the journey across Mexico from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea. Since then Kidruk traveled in 29 countries and wrote eight fiction books including travelogues, adventure stories and thrillers. He is the author of the very first Ukrainian techno-thriller ''Bot''.
