Volney Rouse
Volney Rouse (born December 6, 1983) is an American rugby union player. Rouse plays his club rugby for San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club, and also played for the San Francisco Rush in 2016. Domestic Rouse played collegiate rugby at St. Mary's College, where he was named to the All-American team in 2006 and 2007. Since college, Rouse has played club rugby with San Francisco Golden Gate in top American club competitions including the Rugby Super League, USA Rugby Elite Cup, and Pacific Rugby Premiership. In 2013, he was part of the SFGG squad that participated in the 2013 World Club 7s. In 2016, Rouse joined the San Francisco Rush in their inaugural season. Rouse played all twelve matches for the Rush, scoring a league-high 131 points. 2015 ARFU Men's Sevens Championships
The 2015 ARFU Men's Sevens Championships is an Olympic qualification tournament for rugby sevens at the 2016 Summer Olympics which was held in Hong Kong on 7–8 November 2015. It was originally planned to use the 2015 Asian Sevens Series for the qualification but as the series clashed with the 2015 Rugby World Cup hosted in England, it was decided to use one qualifying tournament (with a pre-qualifying round) for Asia. 2013 World Club 7s
The 2013 World Club 7s was the first edition of the rugby sevens tournament and was hosted at Twickenham Stadium in London, England on 17 and 18 August 2013. Format The teams were divided into pools of four teams, who played a round-robin within the pool. Points were awarded in each pool on the standard schedule for rugby sevens tournaments (though different from the standard in the 15-man game)—3 for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss. Following all the group games, the winner and runner up in each group progressed to the Knockout Stage along with the best two third-place teams. Fly-half (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and Line-out (rugby union), line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. Props push in the scrums, while the hooker tries to secure the ball for their team by "hooking" it back with their heel. The Saint Mary's Gaels are the athletic teams that compete at Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga, California. The nickname applies to the college's intercollegiate NCAA Division I teams and to the school's club sports teams. Most varsity teams compete in the West Coast Conference.
