Vollmerhausen
Gummersbach (; ksh, Jummersbach) is a town in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, being the district seat of the Oberbergischer Kreis. It is located east of Cologne. History In 1109 Gummersbach was mentioned in official documents for the first time. The document in question concerned the lowering of the episcopal tax for the church in Gummersbach by Archbishop Frederick I. At that time the name of the town was spelled as ''Gumeresbracht''. Gummersbach received town privileges in 1857. In 1855 Gummersbach's industrial history began with the foundation of the company Steinmüller. With the company's success the little village began to grow to a town. After the company was bought in 1998 the production in Gummersbach was closed and most of the company's area was unused. Due to the fact that by the time this area made up half of the downtown area the town of Gummersbach bought this area to develop it. Adele Bloesch-Stöcker
Adele Bloesch-Stöcker (12 June 1875 – 10 September 1978) was a Swiss-German violinist and composer. She was born in Gummersbach, Germany, and was associated with Fritz Brun and Othmar Schoeck. She performed in Cologne, Berlin, Leipzig and Bern and was a founding member of the Bern Chamber Orchestra. In 1909 she married Swiss author Hans Bloesch (1878-1945). She was responsible for the musical aspects of the Schweizeische Ausstellung für Frauenarbeit (SAFFA) in 1928, for which she composed a SAFFA walz and directed the women orchestra. After giving up her performing career for health reasons, Bloesch-Stöcker turned to composition. She released her ''Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in E minor'' in 1935, and conducted performances in 1935–36 in Bern and Burgdorf. Hella Kemper (born 2 February 1959), known by her stage name Hella von Sinnen (lit. ''Hella out of her mind'', making pun of the aristocratic "von"), is a German entertainer and television presenter. Wolfgang Karius
Wolfgang Karius (born 4 June 1943) is a German conductor, organist and harpsichordist. Biography Karius was born at Gummersbach. He attended the Hochschule für Musik Köln where he studied organ under Wolfgang Stockmeier and Michael Schneider and the harpsichord under Hugo Ruf. After completing his studies in Cologne, he went to receive further education in Paris through a scholarship provided by the Government of France. Most of these studies were in the area of French organ music with Marie-Claire Alain and Jean Langlais. He pursued further master-classes in Baroque performance practice with Luigi Tagliavini, Anton Heiller and Kenneth Gilbert, and master-classes in conducting with Kurt Thomas and Sergiu Celibidache. He made further graduate studies in musicology and Romanistik studies at the University of Cologne. Harald Fischer
Harald Fischer (died November 15, 2000) was a German chiropractor residing in the West Bank since coming to Palestine in 1981 to work for a German charity. After retiring from professional life, Fischer continued to provide free medical care to local residents. He was residing with his Palestinian wife in Beit Jala near Bethlehem when his village was attacked by Israeli helicopter gunships. Fischer initially took cover under a stairwell with his wife, but later left his home to assist an injured neighbor whose house had been partially destroyed in the attack. As he entered the street Fischer was struck and instantly killed by an Israeli missile that left one of his legs severed and his body riddled with shrapnel.
