Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. The team may touch the ball up to three times to return the ball to the other side of the court, but individual players may not touch the ball twice consecutively. ... Doug Beal
Doug Beal (born March 4, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American volleyball player and coach, a former USA Volleyball CEO, and a member of the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. Education * Master's degree in Education from Bowling Green University, * Doctorate degree in Exercise physiology from Ohio State University * Doctorate in Humanics from Springfield College Contributions to the sport of volleyball As a player Beal competed on two World Championships teams, and four NORCECA Zone championship teams. The USA National Men's teams did not qualify for the 1972, 1976 or 1980 Olympics. Beal was a five-time All-America player at Ohio State University Buckeyes. In 1969 he was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. He was also selected MVP of the 1975 USVBA Open Championships. Bebeto De Freitas
Paulo Roberto de Freitas, best known as Bebeto (January 15, 1950 – March 13, 2018), was a Brazilian volleyball coach and football manager. He was the president of Botafogo FR football club. Bebeto was born in Rio de Janeiro. He coached several Brazilian and Italian volleyball teams; as coach of Brazil men's national team, he won a silver medal at the 1984 Olympics. Bernardo Rocha de Rezende (born 25 August 1959), known as Bernardo Rezende and nicknamed Bernardinho, is a Brazilian volleyball coach and former player. He is the current coach of the female volleyball team Rio de Janeiro Vôlei Clube. Rezende is the most successful coach in the history of volleyball, accumulating more than 30 major titles in twenty-year career directing the Brazilian Brazil men's national volleyball team, male and Brazil women's national volleyball team, female teams. He has won two Olympic gold medals during his coaching career, as head coach of Brazil men's national volleyball team at Athens 2004 and Rio 2016 Olympics.
