Volane
The Volane () is a French river, a tributary of the Ardèche and a sub-affluent of the Rhône. Geography It crops at the foot of the suc de l'Areilladou at in Mézilhac and at , nearly at the end of the téléski de l'Areilladou. It runs through (among others) the towns of Antraigues-sur-Volane and Vals-les-Bains. It joins the Ardèche north of Labégude, at just outside Vals-les-Bains at ''le pont de Vals'' (locality) at less than from the casino. Antraigues-sur-Volane
Antraigues-sur-Volane (, literally ''Antraigues on Volane''; oc, Entraigas) is a former commune in the Ardèche department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of southern France. On 1 January 2019, it was merged into the new commune Vallées-d'Antraigues-Asperjoc. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Antraiguains'' or ''Antraiguaines'' or alternatively as ''Antraiguais'' or ''Antraiguaises''. Geography Location ''Antraigues-sur-Volane'' is located 5 kilometres north of Vals-les-Bains and 14 km north of Aubenas. The village lies on the edge of the Ardèche Cévennes with the northern boundary ending at the Mézilhac Pass and the Vivarais Mountains. Access to the commune is on the D578 road from Val-les-Bains in the south to the village then continuing north through the heart of the commune to Laviolle in the north. Asperjoc
Asperjoc (; oc, Asperjòc) is a former commune in the Ardèche department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of southern France. On 1 January 2019, it was merged into the new commune Vallées-d'Antraigues-Asperjoc. Geography Asperjoc is located some 2 km north by north-west of Aubenas and 18 km west by south-west of Privas. Access to the commune is by the D 578 road from Antraigues-sur-Volane in the north which passes down the eastern border of the commune and continues south to Vals-les-Bains. The D 243 branches off the D 578 in the south of the commune and goes north-west through the commune and continues to Labastide-sur-Bésorgues. The commune has no village called Asperjoc but has several hamlets: les Beaumelles, la Brugeyre, le Chastelas, le Fau, Laulagnet, le Pont de Bridou, le Pont de l-Huile, la Praye, le Raccourci, le Rigaudel, Thieure, Tras Chabanne et la Valette inférieure. Ardèche (river)
The Ardèche (; oc, Ardecha) is a long river in south-central France, a right-bank tributary of the River Rhône. Its source is in the Massif Central, near the village of Astet. It flows into the Rhône near Pont-Saint-Esprit, north-west of Orange, France, Orange. The river gives its name to the French Departments of France, department of Ardèche. Sabine Baring-Gould
Sabine Baring-Gould ( ; 28 January 1834 – 2 January 1924) of Lew Trenchard in Devon, England, was an Anglican priest, hagiographer, antiquarian, novelist, folk song collector and eclectic scholar.
