The Balkans ( , ), corresponding partially with the Balkan Peninsula, is a geographical area in southeastern Europe with various geographical and historical definitions. Vojislav Vukčević ( sr-cyr, Војислав Вукчевић; 1938–2016) was a Serbian politician. He served as the Minister of Diaspora from 2004 to 2007. Education and career Vukčević was born in 1938 in Osijek in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (today in Croatia), his father being from Montenegro. He graduated from the University of Belgrade's Law School and received a doctoral degree from the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law, in 1974. He was a president of the court in Beli Manastir, and worked as a dean and professor at the Faculty of Law, Osijek University, until the breakup of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Vojislav Šešelj ( sr-Cyrl, Војислав Шешељ, ; born 11 October 1954) is a Serbian politician and convicted war criminal. He is the founder and president of the far-right Serbian Radical Party (SRS). Between 1998 and 2000, he was a Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, deputy prime minister of Serbia. He surrendered to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY in February 2003, but his trial did not begin until November 2007. Vojislav Nikčević ( cyrl, Војислав Никчевић; 18 January 1935 – 2 July 2007) was a Montenegro, Montenegrin linguist. Life Nikčević was born in village near Nikšić, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and was educated at the University of Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia. He was a professor at the Philological Faculty of Nikšić, University of Montenegro. He was best known for his work on promoting the Montenegrin language as a separate language from Serbian language, Serbian. Vojislav Mihailović ( sr-cyrl, Војислав Михаиловић; born 3 September 1951) is a Serbian politician who served as the mayor of Belgrade from 1999 to 2000. As of January 2022, he has been the president of the Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia (POKS). He is a grandson of Draža Mihailović, the leader of Chetniks during World War II. Vojislav "Vojkan" Melić (Serbian Cyrillic: Војислав Војкан Мелић; 5 January 1940 – 7 April 2006) was a Yugoslavian footballer. He was one of the most versatile and skilled players that Yugoslavia had in 1960s. Vojislav spent part of his career in France and played in the FIFA World Cup 1962.
