Voivodeship Road 101
Voivodeship Road 101 ( pl, Droga wojewódzka nr 101, abbreviated DW 101) is a former voivodeship road. It ran through the Pomeranian Voivodeship from voivodeship road 100 in Pierwoszyno to Kosakowo where there is the new international airport. The route was concurrent with voivodeship road 100 on its entire length. On 12 April 2023, DW 101 lost provincial road status, along with DW 100. Pomeranian Voivodeship
Pomeranian Voivodeship, Pomorskie Region, or Pomerania Province (Polish: ''Województwo pomorskie'' ; ( Kashubian: ''Pòmòrsczé wòjewództwò'' ), is a voivodeship, or province, in northwestern Poland. The provincial capital is Gdańsk. The voivodeship was established on January 1, 1999, out of the former voivodeships of Gdańsk, Elbląg and Słupsk, pursuant to the Polish local government reforms adopted in 1997. It is bordered by West Pomeranian Voivodeship to the west, Greater Poland and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships to the south, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship to the east, and the Baltic Sea to the north. Rumia
Rumia (; Kashubian: ''Rëmiô''; German until 1945: ''Rahmel'') is a town in northern Poland, in the Wejherowo County in Pomeranian Voivodeship, with some 45,000 inhabitants. Voivodeship Road 100
Voivodeship Road 100 ( pl, Droga wojewódzka nr 100, abbreviated DW 100) is a former voivodeship road. It ran through the Pomeranian Voivodeship leading from Rumia to Pierwoszyno where it met Voivodeship road 101. The road ran through an old German Air Force military airfield. On 12 April 2023 DW 100 lost provincial road status (along with DW 101 and a portion of DW 218) as part of resolution No. 312/499/23 of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Board. Gdynia-Kosakowo Airport
Gdynia-Kosakowo Airport (also known as Gdynia-Oksywie or Gdynia-Babie Doły) is a civil (unfinished) and military airport in northern Poland. The governing authority of the city of Gdynia intended to build this airport as a low-cost alternative to the main airport at Rebiechowo, near Gdansk, providing another economic boost to the area. History The airport was built prior to World War II on the site of the former Amalienfelde farm as a diversion airport for the Rumia-Zagórze Airport ( pl:Lotnisko w Rumi), which closed in 1974. During the German occupation, Luftwaffe planes were stationed at Babie Doły Airport, conducting tests related to torpedoes. After the war, the area was taken over by the Polish Armed Forces. In 2006, an agreement was signed on the use of this airport for the needs of civil aviation. The managing party was to be the management of the Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport.
