Voices Of Fire (Van Canto Album)
''Voices of Fire'' is the sixth studio album by German a cappella metal band Van Canto. It also features John Rhys-Davies, the London Metro Voices and the children's choir from Chorakademie Dortmund. It is their last album with lead vocalist Sly, who would leave the band in 2017, as well as their only one without bass vocalist Ingo "Ike" Sterzinger, who left the band in the year before the album's release and re-joined it in the year after. Van Canto
Van Canto (sometimes stylized as van Canto) is a German a cappella metal band, founded in 2006 and composed of six singers and a drummer. Although the group is often classified as an a cappella ensemble, they use real drums in their music, instead of vocal percussion or beatboxing. Van Canto play a cappella with classic heavy, power and symphonic metal influence, creating what they call "hero metal a cappella". While only two of the six singers perform the lead vocals, the other four instead use their voices to imitate the guitars and the bass, with the help of amplifiers, in an attempt to sound closer to the original instruments. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. ''A cappella'' (, also , ; ) music is a performance by a singer or a singing group without instrumental accompaniment, or a piece intended to be performed in this way. The term ''a cappella'' was originally intended to differentiate between Renaissance polyphony and Baroque concertato musical styles. Power metal is a subgenre of heavy metal combining characteristics of traditional heavy metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context. ''Dawn of the Brave'' is the fifth studio album by the German a cappella metal band Van Canto. It was released on February 7, 2014. The album contains nine own compositions and four covers. For the first time since their debut album, there have been no guest musicians performing in any of the tracks. However, an ensemble of 200 fans were invited to record a choir for some tracks. In the album is included " Crazy Train" from Ozzy Osbourne but is not in the track list. Metro Voices is a choir group based in London, England, that specialises in performing for the motion pictures. They work closely with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and with acclaimed British composer Craig Armstrong.
