"The Voice in the Night" is a short story by English writer William Hope Hodgson, first published in the November 1907 edition of ''Blue Book Magazine''. The story has been adapted a number of times, most prominently in the 1963 Japanese film ''Matango''. Weird fungi in the shape of animals or humans are a recurring theme in Hodgson's stories and novels; for example, in the novel ''The Boats of the "Glen Carrig"'' the survivors of a shipwreck come across tree-like plants that mimic (or, perhaps, have absorbed) birds and people. The Barratt Band was formed in 1980 by Norman Barratt, formerly of Gravy Train and the Alwyn Wall Band, and in its initial stages consisted of Barratt (Guitar, Vocals), Dave Morris (Keyboards), Tim Hatwell (Bass) and Russ Caldwell (Drums). The band recorded their first album ''Playing in the City'' in 1981 at Chapel Lane Studios just outside Hereford. Bruno Nicolai (20 May 1926 – 16 August 1991) was an Italian film music composer, orchestra director and musical editor most active in the 1960s through the 1980s. While studying piano and composition at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, he befriended Ennio Morricone and formed a long working relationship, with Nicolai eventually conducting for and co-scoring films with Morricone.
