Has ( sq-definite, Hasi) is a region in north eastern Albania and south western Kosovo. Hasi is an ethno-geographic area with well-defined borders, bounded by the Drin river to its west and southwest and by the White Drin river on its south, east and northeast. It is located in northeastern Albania and southwestern Kosovo. This division occurred in 1913 as a result of the First Balkan War. Hasi has an area of 371 kilometers square and has a population of around 40,000 in the Republic of Kosovo, while in the Republic of Albania it has an area of 374 kilometers square and a population of 21,500. In this way, Hasi has an area of 745 kilometers square and a population of 61,500. Etymology The name originates from '' hass'', an Ottoman land revenue. Gjakova
Gjakova or Đakovica, ) and Đakovica ( sr-Cyrl, Ђаковица, ) is the sixth largest city of Kosovo and seat of the Gjakova Municipality and the District of Gjakova, Gjakova District. According to the 2024 census, the municipality of Gjakova has 78,699 inhabitants. Geographically, it is located in the south-western part of Kosovo, about halfway between the cities of Peja and Prizren. It is approximately inland from the Adriatic Sea. The city is situated some north-east of Tirana, north-west of Skopje, west of the capital Pristina, south of Belgrade and east of Podgorica. The city of Gjakova has been populated since the prehistoric era.
