Vodiane, Pokrovsk Raion, Donetsk Oblast
Vodiane or Vodyane (Ukrainian: Водяне) is a small village located in Pokrovsk Raion, Donetsk Oblast. In 2001, the population was 319 persons and the elevation is 177m. Up until 2020, the village was part of the Yasynuvata Raion, until it was merged into the Pokrovsk Raion. An oblast ( uk, о́бласть; ) in Ukraine, often called a region or province, is the main type of first-level administrative division of the country. The Donetsk Oblast ( ukr, Донецька область, Donetska oblast, ), also referred to as Donechchyna ( ukr, Донеччина, links=no), is an oblast of eastern Ukraine. Yasynuvata Raion
Yasynuvata Raion ( uk, Ясинуватський район, ) was one of the administrative raions (a ''district'') of Donetsk Oblast, located in southeastern Ukraine. The administrative center of the district was the city of Yasynuvata, which was incorporated separately as a city of oblast significance and did not belong to the districts jurisdiction. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Donetsk Oblast to eight, of which only five were controlled by the government. The War in Donbas, russian: Война на Донбассе was an armed conflict in the Donbas region of Ukraine, part of the broader Russo-Ukrainian War. In March 2014, immediately following the Euromaidan protest movement and subsequent Revolution of Dignity, protests by pro-Russian, anti-government separatist groups arose in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine, collectively called the Donbas. These demonstrations began around the same time as Russia's annexation of Crimea, and were part of wider pro-Russian protests across southern and eastern Ukraine. Avdiivka (, , is a city of regional significance in Ukraine's Donetsk Oblast. The city is in the center of the region, just north of the city of Donetsk. The large Avdiivka Coke Plant is located in Avdiivka. The city's population is officially estimated as ; in January 2017, BBC News estimated that the population ranged between 16,000 and 22,000. As of 3 August, 2022, only 2,500 people, or 10% of the city's pre-war population, remained in Avdiivka according to Vitalii Barabash, head of the city's military–civilian administration. Pervomaiske ( uk, Первомайське) is a village located in the suburbs of Donetsk, in the Pokrovsk Raion of the Donetsk Oblast. The population is 2,208. The governing body is the Pervomaiske Silska Rada. Geography Pervomaiske is geographically located in the historical and economic Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. The village is located east of Karlivka, north of Nevelske, south of Tonenke and north-west of Pisky. The elevation is 169 meters.
