Vladislav Delay is the most frequently used pseudonym of Sasu Ripatti (born 1976), a Finnish electronic musician. He has also recorded as Luomo, Sistol, Uusitalo, Conoco, and Ripatti, working in styles such as minimal techno, glitch, and house. Background Ripatti has been involved in the ambient music, glitch, house, and techno genres. His method of track production involves a mixture of synthesizing, vocal recording and live reprocessing. Glitch is a genre of electronic music that emerged in the 1990s. It is distinguished by the deliberate use of glitch-based audio media and other sonic artifacts. The glitching sounds featured in glitch tracks usually come from audio recording device or digital electronics malfunctions, such as CD skipping, electric hum, digital or analog distortion, circuit bending, bit-rate reduction, hardware noise, software bugs, computer crashes, vinyl record hiss or scratches, and system errors. ''Multila'' is the third album by Finnish producer Sasu Ripatti under the name Vladislav Delay. It compiles the ''Huone'' and ''Ranta'' EPs Ripatti released on Basic Channel's Chain Reaction label. It was reissued in 2007 by Ripatti's Huume imprint and again on vinyl in 2020 with a remaster by Rashad Becker. The album consists of six ambient tracks and the 22-minute techno composition "Huone." Reception Multila is one of Ripatti's most highly regarded releases as Vladislav Delay, receiving four and a half stars from Allmusic and being referred to as "the finest album in the hugely impressive Vladislav Delay canon" by Boomkat, though a review of the 2007 reissue by PopMatters said "it never really feels like a complete work." All Tomorrow's Parties was an organisation based in London that promoted music festivals, concerts and records throughout the world for over ten years. Tony Allen (musician)
Tony Oladipo Allen (20 July 1940 – 30 April 2020) was a Nigerian drummer, composer, and songwriter who lived and worked in Paris, France. Allen was the drummer and musical director of Fela Kuti's band Africa '70 from 1968 to 1979, and was one of the founders of the Afrobeat genre. Fela once stated that "without Tony Allen, there would be no Afrobeat". He was described by Brian Eno as "perhaps the greatest drummer who has ever lived". Moritz von Oswald (born 1962) is a German record producer and percussionist from Hamburg and based in Berlin. He is a co-founder of the production duo and record label Basic Channel. Footwork, also called juke, footwork/juke or Chicago juke, is a genre of electronic music derived from ghetto house with elements of hip hop, first appearing in Chicago in the late 1990s. The music style evolved from the earlier, rapid rhythms of ghetto house, a change pioneered by RP Boo. It may draw from the rapid rhythms and sub-bass frequencies of drum & bass. Tracks also frequently feature heavily syncopated samples from rap, pop and other sources, and are often around 160 bpm. Antye Greie (aka AGF or Poemproducer) is a vocalist, musician, composer, producer, and new media artist. Life Greie was born and raised in East Germany. Her work involves speech combined with electronic music. She works on sound installations, moving image, audio visualization and real time video processing.
